Morey showed his players and future free agents that he'll call people out who lie about his team. All in less than 140 characters. We angry Rockets fans showed what loyal fans look like.

The only people calling Morey an idiot are you, DD, heypee, Mark Cuban and Barkley. Nice company!

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

Why are people upset and even disappointed of Morey? He sent out ONE tweet after Charles made either an ignorant or biased statement about the Rockets. I actually think it's pretty great that someone of authority defended the team. I get the he's the GM but I'd rather have someone speak up rather than someone keeping mum because the subject is 'beneath them'.

It's not that easy. If the Rockets have another 1st round exit, Barkley will look like a genius. It's make or break for Daryl Morey this season. He's the poster boy for analytics. So with 2 disappointing playoff appearances in back to back years, we could possibly be the laughing stock of the NBA. I pray not

It is easy to be wise. Simply think of something stupid to say, then don't say it.

People will quickly forget that it was Morey calling out Barkley's grudge. It will soon fade away as a Barkley vs Analytics or Barkley vs Nerds moment. Nothing will stop Barkley's grudge. He sits on the bully pulpit.

Remember when we were all laughing and cheering-on Barkley when he first got the TNT job and refused to call Quitten by name...only calling him #33. Do you remember the only thing that made him stop holding that grudge against #33?

....An apology from Quitten . That stopped it.

Something behind the scenes is pissing off Barkley ... probably Les. From what we know of the #33 incident, all it would take to stop the Rox grudge is an apology. That stopped it immediately.

Attacking Barkley verbally through media/twitter will have little chance of success. Barkley does not back down ... especially to words.

Best chance to stop the grudge is for a simple phone call from Les. And let's not forget that Adelman had a grudge with Les, too, while he was coaching Les' team.

In the meantime, imso, we have to endure because Les and Barkley are both being stubborn. Or at least, that's the theory many rox fans hold.

The Rockets CEO Tad Brown already tried. Morey is the second attempt.

Interesting world you live in where Charles Barkley is a forward-thinking, calculated genius and Daryl Morey is a fool.

This is more like attempt #10 or #20, but getting Chuck to stop being an idiot is kind of a dead end. He's been doing it for a long time and is paid handsomely for it.

If you get a TV analyst to call you a nerd with no game, you're doing something right.

Pippen started that whole mess by attacking him publicly; ergo - the apology from him Pippen

In this case Barkley should not get one nor give one because he is paid to give an opinion.

Some Rockets fans are overly sensitive because he is critical of the Rockets, but he is critical of a lot of people and other teams

Those who don't like what he is saying either need to get a thicker skin or don't watch the show when he is on

But nobody should have to get or give an apology for expressing an opinion

So you would cowardly capitulate just to appease a talking head who has routinely been lampooned for his own embarrassing ignorance?
All to assuage a toothless grudge?
You are a bully's wet dream.

Agree, even if Les did something to piss him off, it didn't happen publicly; hence why Barkley (until Morey got personal) didn't get publicly personal like he did with #33. I'm just asking is there a simple private apology or discussion that can resolve this.

There is a lot of speculation that something happened to Adelman, too, early on in his tenure to make him not talk to Les, too.

Maybe nothing happened to Barkley and he just doesn't like Les for firing Rudy, scapegoating JVG and dismissing Adelman (our 22 win-streak coach!). But that doesn't seem right, because Barkley would have said that. JVG and SVG defend coaches in public against firings all the time.

What a stupid take. We have already won. The vast majority thinks Barkley was wrong and is an idiot. We don't have to endure anything. Barkleys thoughtless idiotic rants are getting old and will eventually be his downfall. It can't be soon enough.

Uh, you're not understanding what happened. That tweet by Morey was also a tweet about TNT, and being at the game instead of watching it on TNT.

Barkley did not go on a personal rant about a tweet (he doesn't do twitter) in some drama queen fashion. Barkley was then set up by TNT for a response. Ernie put him on the spot and put the tweet up for the national audience to see.

Ernie did that because TNT likes to put the raw Barkley on display. TNT fully created and backed that moment. And they got exactly what they wanted...national exposure for their show.

    No?

Good luck with the idea that Barkley did something that TNT didn't want to happen.

    Apologize to him? Lol

Sure Barkley has a history of not backing down, but this Rockets management has a history of successfully changing historical narrative.

His vitriol becomes less relevant everyday, but our future is looking bright. He's doing this for $5m he hasn't earned. Ironically he's also doing this to be relevant in NBA circles and minds, he obviously can't deal with the post career lack of attention. He'll disappear slowly from TV a sad old man with no ring, no apology and no $5m but ($100 in tip jar) will watch the Rockets win a championship with Morey in the next 4 years.
