yeah Bev is only our starter because lsat year our backcourt consisted of Jeremy Lin, Canann, and a limited Brooks.

He's going to opt out and become a free agent for sure. Whatever team acquires him will know that going in, but will also know that they have the financial leverage to resign him with an additional year if they want him. Most likely whatever team trades for him (if he becomes available) is going to be prepared to offer him a 5 year max/near max contract and he will stick around.

LA and NY aren't contenders, but if either team trades for him he will re-sign there for sure.

I hope that Morey is looking for a backup 5 before a 1. Plan A for the rest of the season should not include a healthy Dwight.

I also hope that Morey does not give up more than Terry, KPop and a second round pick to get one half of a season of Goran.

I think if we had to trade Motiejunas and the New Orleans first, we would do it. I mean, think of what it took to trade for Dragic the first time around. We had to trade the Most Improved Player that year in Aaron Brooks, who was scoring pretty well at that time. Of course, he was coming off of an injury, but, nevertheless, he was the league's MIP. Motiejunas may be a candidate for that award, but Dragic has improved a ton since we originally traded for him. I think Motiejunas and the pick have been on the table with this in mind. Phoenix is probably asking for more than that, and that's where the hold up is, in my opinion.

If the plan for the season is no healthy Dwight, then there is no reason to trade for anyone. The season is over. You aren't contending if Dwight isn't coming back, so if the Rockets believe he isn't then they should only make trades that improve their ability to make moves in the offseason OR that get them players they will want to re-sign for next year.

Phoenix ain't getting D-Mo for Dragic. Morey ain't that crazy. Even with a healthy Dwight, we'd have a mediocre inside game since he, Smith, and T-Jones aren't exactly reliable postup players. D-Mo's by far the best we've got and he's only 24 and likely to improve even more.

Honestly as much as I want Dragic, if the asking price is D-Mo and picks, the Suns can go fornicate themselves.

Feel like if they are actually willing to trade him, Houston has the assets to make the best offer. LA already gave Phoenix all its draft picks, and their Houston pick isn't as good as our NOLA pick. With an expiring contract, only contending teams will want him, and how many of them are looking for a starting point guard? No one in the West (except Houston), and really just Miami in the east, but they definitely have nothing worth trading.

a backup 5 is not more important than finding a starting pg full time

What assets do the Lakers have that they'd trade for Dragic?

Julius Randle? Would they give up the top 5 protection on their 2015 pick owed to PHX?

Remember, Dragic is a "rental" contract-wise for the Lakers, the Suns, the Rockets or any other team. So, what would the Lakers, who have the cap room to chase Dragic this summer, give up to get Dragic a few months earlier in a lost season? They'd gain his Bird Rights and the ability to offer him an extra year in contract, but it's not like that 5th year is a guarantee for Dragic to re-sign-- just ask Dwight Howard.

What do the Lakers have to possibly entice Phoenix?

Well if we can snatch Plumlee then D-Mo might be expendable. We need bigmen that play big. Joey Dorsey at backup center is atrocious
