LOL no way does anyone think two second rounders is more valuable than a mid first. Especially with Anthony Davis questionable health.
He said more valuable than other contenders 1st, not the NOP first. The argument would be why would you want Hypothetical Contender that will be picking 24th or 27th, etc. instead of two 2nd round picks. It's nice and all, but I don't believe the Rockets are getting an impact player without giving up that NOP.
They're barely over .500. Now with Anthony Davis injury, no sane GM is gonna think two seconds is more valuable than a likely mid first.
He was not talking about the Pelicans pick. He said that 2 second-rounders would be worth more than another contender's own pick which would be a late first-rounder.
Shoot, go for it. Dragic will help this team. Then when Dwight gets back, we have a serious team for the playoff run.
I'd guess the Suns are fishing for the Lakers' 1st. And I'm wondering if Jones' "flu" was really trade/insurance-protection heading into the break.
I'm going to say that Dragic is definitely in play here guys. Not saying we're going to get him, but listen to this interview from the mouth of the Suns own president of basketball operations Lon Babby. The Suns are definitely open for business. When asked specifically about Dragic he chose not to comment instead of vehemently denying the trade rumors. Ironically, he also talked about trying to trade for Harden when he was available from OKC. Said he was on the phone with Presti everyday and they just didn't have the assets. Listen to the audio. http://arizonasports.com/41/1807242/ACTIVE Very interesting. Shades of a Kyle Lowry for a guaranteed lottery pick here? Asset acquisition.
Because we can't sign him or anyone like him in free agency during this season or before/during next season, so we will have to trade assets in order to add impact players.
Unlikely the would just turn down his option because the option has trade value. Ideally a Dragic trade just involves Terry or Shved, Canaan, and Jones/Capela in terms of salaries. That would give us the ability to ask Brewer to opt in or re-sign. Re-sign Dragic with Bird Rights. Re-sign Smith with part of or the whole mid-level. Tender Beverly. And then be able to trade Papa and his option for up to $7.3M in a salary dump without combining salaries or giving up much more (if anything) in assets. That could be enormous to find 1 more real good G or C as insurance.
Not only do you have to keep Dorsey , you need to keep Jones too .... Going with just three bigs (DMo , Smith & Dorsey) is going to make life difficult. Just take a look at how the Clippers handled them (without Griffin) on the boards last night for an example. KPap just cant play the PF spot against big lineups like Jordan & Hawes without being a liability on the boards & defensive switches (Couple times Harden & Beverley got switched onto Jordan). They were forced to play him in those situations because Jones was out.

i dont mind giving up the NOP 1st, but i want plumlee in return. we need a center to survive without dwight. plum is a good rebounder / defender. he's young and on a rookie contract. with len and wright, he's expendable. i'd give papa/shved/pick for dragic/plumlee OR jones/papa/shved/2 second rounders for dragic/plumlee/zoran (they will try to get out of his contract without his brother on the team)
I don't even have to see this to know they are going to make some bs offers that involve DMO..... NO NO NO...... If that's your asking price then keep Dragic...... Also NO we don't want IT........ We want Dragic because he makes us better... Not the crap you want to dump for a 1st rounder and one of the most talented offensive big men in the game... You get NO's pick and an asset.... If you don't want that then god day sir...
Didn't really mention that. Just talked about why trading Goran wouldn't be a good move for the Suns.
