In my scenario, DWill is bought out and would sign a Vet Minimum contract with the Rockets. That is all they can offer since the MLE has been used (Kpap) and the BAE (Smith) has been used.
If you believe that DMorey would not trade DMo for Nikola Vucevic or Derrick Favors in a second, then he needs to immediately be fired. For those 2 players other than salary concerns it's a no brainer. The other 2 players are more comparable with DMo having the edge.
The talent gulf between Goran and DWill is very big. I agree. But it is not all about talent. Remember, in the DWill scenario you don't have to give up ANYTHING. You keep the NOP pick/Tjones assets. With Goran, you give up those assets.
It shouldn't be a lot. The Heat should be begging for someone to take that contract off their hands. Not that Bosh isn't worth the deal, they're just not going anywhere with that roster. Same with Melo.
You have to give up Brewer, Terry, K-Pap, Shved to get D-Will. For salary purposes. Thats assuming we trade for him... doubt he is bought out.
I think I make the deal too and would only consider the Dwill option as a "fall back" option if my prime PG targets were not available.

That's not a bad lineup, but Wade is on the tail end of his career. And what would the Heat have of value that the Rockets don't?
Don't be surprised if the Rockets end up with Randy Foye after the trade deadline. He is expendable in Denver, likely available for cheap, and was a lotto pick drafted by Kevin McHale*. Corey Brewer also fit all 3 of these criteria and became a Rocket. *Kevin McHale technically traded for him. McHale wanted Randy Foye at 6th overall. Houston, at 8th, wanted Brandon Roy and made a deal with McHale to have McHale draft Roy and Houston would trade for Roy, presumably with Foye and something else. Portland, at 7th, sniffed this out and drafted Roy, forcing McHale to trade Roy for Foye + some minor consideration (cash?). Houston ended up drafting Gay to trade him for Shane Battier, thus completing the Roy-Foye-Gay-Battier Draft Day Drama.
http://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6566499 AB, Harden, Jet, Ariza, Brewer, DMo, Smith, Dwight is one heckuva eight-man playoff rotation. Canaan, Pap, Nick, TJ, and Capela should get minutes to show what they can do and spell our playoff rotation guys. Who knows, maybe we can have more than an eight-man rotation in the playoffs... Paging Mr. Ray Allen, please report to Mr. Daryl Morey.
Deron has fallen off a cliff badly. He is injured every other day AND he is a diva who creates lockeroom problems. I think I read somewhere that he had missed his last 19 shots or something last week. He is the epitome of washed up at this point.
