http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=q5xzfyl Rockets * IN: Dragic (PG/SG), Kanter (C) and future 2nd round pick (Jazz). * OUT: Canaan (PG/SG), Ariza (SF/SG), Jones (PF), Capela (C), 1st round pick 2015 (Pelicans) and 2nd round pick 2015 (Knicks) Suns * IN: Ariza (SF/SG), Jones (PF), Capela (C) and 1st round pick 2015 (Pelicans) * OUT: Plumlee (C) and Dragic (PG/SG) Jazz * IN: Plumlee (C), Canaan (PG/SG) and 2nd round pick 2015 (Knicks) * OUT: Kanter (C) and future 2nd round pick. Rockets starting line-up *PG: Dragic/Bev/Shved *SG: Harden/Terry/Johnson *SF: Brewer/Pap *PF: D-Mo/Smith *C: Howard/Kanter/Dorsey Why for the Rockets? Well, we have our starting/playmaking PG (Dragic) and a very young/decent back-up C. Kanter can be our starting C until Howard is back from injury anyway. Why for the Suns? They need more wings (SF's). Ariza fits the bill. http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/236602/Suns-Looking-To-Balance-Guard-Heavy-Roster Why for the Jazz? Kanter wants out. http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/236601/Enes-Kanter-Hopes-For-Trade-From-Jazz-Before-Deadline
http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/236602/Suns-Looking-To-Balance-Guard-Heavy-Roster some hope for dragic emerges... considering that they have a player who can upgrade our PG spot, help ease the scoring load from harden, AND they are looking to move a backup center who can rebound and defend... this team is PERFECT to fit all of our needs at the deadline jones, papa, shved, picks for dragic, plumlee, the other dragic (we know they only got his brother to make him happy) rockets roster (without dwight) plumlee-dorsey-dwight dmo-smith-capela ariza-brewer-zoran dragic harden-terry-johnson dragic-beverley-canaan suns roster len-wright morris-jones-papa tucker-morris-warren green-goodwin-shved bledsoe-thomas-ennis maybe make it a 3 team trade sending papa/shved to a team like denver for aflalo to fill their SG spot better.
If Philly's GM was still Billy King this trade could happen. Unfortunately itis Hinkie and teams have to compesated to take on as bad a contract as MacGees. Esp since he will take time away from their center rookies and he will be further untradeable so he can't be further fliped. So Denver will have to add a first. But then Philly's asking price for MCW from all the leaks are two firsts. So in total you will have to send them the equivalent of three first round picks to agree to this deal. Jones is useless to Philly because he has only one more year on rookie contract and they are overloaded on the frontcourt. What they want is pg and wings.
Id this in a minute just wish we could hold on to capela or NO pick seems like we give up too much youth. We risk having to resign or kanter and dragic this summer which locks in our team for a while how old is kanter is he restricted?
If we still are in win now mode... which we should be every year that we have Harden and even and injured Howard. We must pull of this deal Denver Gets: TJones KPAP Sergey Karasev (BKN) They upgrade the Cavs Pick to the pelicans pick Brooklyn Gets: Ariza Terry Shved Pelicans Pick Cavs pick from Denver They get their picks and cap relief Rockets Get: Brook Lopez Wilson Chandler Jarrett Jack We get our starting PG/SF/and backup Center We could even go with Lopez at the Center and Dwight and the PF against teams like the Spurs/Grizzlies/and maybe even Clippers come playoff time otherwise a second unit of Lopez/Smoove/Brewer/Bev would kill any second unit in the west This trade works under the CBA
We need Enes Kanter. He is a young back up Center and could prove to be a good insurance policy in case things go (even further) south with DH12. Kanter should be a top priority.
Lopez scares me he is way to injury prone to be so young, I really get the feeling the rockets are grooming dmo to be a center. He need to improve his rim protecting, and rebounding though. He has the size and post up moves to do it. If not we could just use him this season and go all in on hassan whiteside this summer hes quickly turning into a stud.
I know its simple but why not Jet, Kpap, Shved, NOP 1st for Goran, Zoran, BWright It's gonna be hard for Phoenix to do better than a late lottery for Dragic and why hold on to BWright when Len is the guy they want to develop
NVM whiteside is locked in untill 2016 should have checked b4 assuming, but there is an influx of quality C's this summer.
I really like this, always loved bwright, there should be at least 4 centers in the lottery this year(towns, kaminsky, cauley-Stein and okafor. I'd like to keep the pick and get one, but we dont need a rookie... we want to win now. Where as phoenix isnt to that stage yet, they have time to develop a guy.
Maybe it feels that way, but let me put it like this. If that's our final offer at the deadline who is going to beat it? What team looking to rent Dragic for the stretch run has an asset better than the 13th or 14 overall pick?
It might be, but phoenix could also end up getting one of the bigs I listed and d.russel e.mundiay or j.grant in the draft not too bad for them. Phoenix has to face it they just aren't good enough without OKC's and NO injuries they wouldnt be in the playoff picture. But with 2 good pcks and papa they could be on their way to being really good in the future.
Kanter is about the same size as DMo....much more of a banger, typical post player mentality. He has a little range (15 feet) but stays mostly back to the basket. He'd be a good stop-gap until Dwight returns...he isn't the rim protector that Gobert is, but he'd be ok....much better than Dorsey. If we can get him, as well as a good PG, I'd be as happy as a clam on ecstasy!!
Now that I think about it...Kanter would be a perfect fit here. I know that everybody loves DMO, but Kanter is no consolation prize...with Hakeem and McHale tutoring him, he could turn into a very, very good center for us. Look him up...look at highlights, how he moves without the ball, his body control for a near 7 footer is exceptional...he's built like a truck, but has nice post moves. I'd take him over Lopez because of potential and health. The kid could be a stud for us.
Yeah only don't look up his assist highlights and how much the opponent scores on him. I don't know if he would be a good fit. Maybe there's a way to make it work. He wants a starting gig though and will you put him ahead of DMO? Or pay him 10 mil he will ask when you will have to pay DMO next year a LOT as well?
Agree...still raw, but he has great potential. Morey tried to move up in the draft to get him, so there's always been interest. With Howard slowing down, maybe needing to scale back his offensive game, a skilled big like Kanter can be the inside threat that we need. He'll get his assists by passing out to the three point line...or to a cutting wing. Could you see Kanter and Harden playing the two man game?
