Agree, top 4 is good at the break. We want to STAY there. Going on the road to begin the playoffs would not bode well for us IMO. This is a GOOD team and I enjoy watching them. I really look forward to the games and if we are playing good basketball, I can live with the results either way as much as I like winning.

If what I am about to say is construed as negative...so be it. We are missing a couple of pieces...hope Morey can remedy some of that. That said, we are a 3 point shooting team...when they are falling, we're good. When not, we have almost NOTHING inside. No scoring threat outside of DMO, no rebounding with him or anyone else. And no real serious, energy charged leader to pull the team up by the bootstraps when adversity strikes. Harden is a QUIET by example leader.

1 would play the winner out of 4v5

    2v3 plays 6v7

4th seed and hope the Thunder knock the Warriors out :D

but really why worry about it until it gets here, you have to go through them all if you want to win a Championship and we still have to go through the trade deadline yet

The fans are being realistic not negative. It doesn't matter where the rockets finish in season standings until they are able to beat elite teams in the nba more consistently they aren't getting out the first round to even have a chance to contend. We have already been sold the bs of having a good winning season team we need playoff success. We've already seen this team beat sucks teams and lose to elite teams to end up having a good record to make the playoffs.

Couldn't say it better myself. Now you add the Warriors with the Clippers as being the two teams the Rockets absolutely can't compete with, it's no wonder many don't see us a contenders.

There are some toughies in that 5-game home stand with the Raptors, Clippers, and Cavs. I'd be thrilled if they could go 4-1 in that stretch.

I would take Dallas over Houston in the playoff because of the coaching, especially if they get Stoudemire....Please trade Ariza or Bevs, you can't have two starters that can't shoot.

Wow...need to go look at schedule. 4-1 would be outstanding....3-2 may be more likely depending on the other 2 teams we play.

Regular season match ups mean little, you don't improve in Playoff games just because of regular season results. People over hype how important regular season match ups are. If you are good enough to get the job done in the Playoffs, then that is all you need

the game is far different in the Playoffs

Yeay my mistake, I meant the 4th seed.

I don't want to see the Warriors or OKC in the 2nd round when the other options are teams we are all familiar with.

I think going against the Mavs in the first round then onto Spurs/Grizz is our best road to the WCF personally.

Obviously the Spurs are always a scary team, but that's a team you lose to and just tip your hat to losing to them any ways.

Yes, the playoffs ARE different. Unfortunately, the games generally slow down and are much more half court like and deliberate....something that does not exactly play to our strengths right now. Come on Morey...need some help !

i'd rather the other way around because of our scoring chances. Warriors are starting to crumble a bit on the defensive end, if they had of played better teams the past few games, they would have lost

The homestand is the Raptors, T'Wolves, Clippers, Nets, and Cavs in that order I believe. The Raptors game is the night after we play in Dallas, but luckily Toronto has to play at ATL the night before as well, so that more than evens out.

You'd figure the T'Wolves and Nets are gimmes. And I'd be pretty surprised if the Rockets couldn't beat at least one of the other 3 teams. So a 3-2 result better be the worst case scenario.

@ Dallas, Raptors (b2b),Clippers,and Cavs will be tough. Not beating Clips, Raptors would be tough regardless, Cavs and @Dallas no picnic. Go 2-2 and beat the supposed 2 gimmes...4-2. But,3-3 could easily happen.

For the rockets it is because they have only got out the first round once since 1997. This team needs wins against elite opponents they don't need to be getting owned consistently by any team. That will carry into the playoffs. Even if they are beating good teams close like they beat Portland 3 out of 4 times last year they get to the playoffs over confident and get their butt whipped. Rockets need to beat teams by larger margins on an elite level so when playoff time comes they have the necessary confidence to just take care of business this is not Q team that can just turn it on and off whenever they need to... they haven't proven jack ****.

Pisses me off to see Doc was actually coaching. We jacked up 44 threes. That cannot be real. 44 threes. That's not contender material.

What a buzzkill this season would be if we landed the Clips in Round 1...
