Shane made this show in the first two seasons. It has been downhill since.

I am outraged that they killed Tyrese! Outraged! Ok, no... not really.

Sorry, nope. Can't do it. I just can't get worked up over Tyrese dying. I always found his character to be a bit like furniture... he's there but it wasn't like he was burning up space in my head like Carol, Darrell or Rick.

Honestly, I felt more when they offed the Governor...

    On to the future!

Yeah, I'm surprised no one in here is talking about what the radio was broadcasting.

It could have some relevance, but I was almost certain that the "broadcast" was just a Tyrese flashback that ties in with the story about his Father that he was telling to Noah when he was driving the van about how his father would watch all of the horrible news stories without switching the channel so that he could stay informed.

Tyrese wanted to "turn it off" while he was having these flashbacks because he was giving up, tired of facing his present realities.

Well, with the cut in half bodies along with the limbs, and houses burned down, I think the broadcasts just reaffirms that there is a huge threat out there.

I think they were audio hallucinations Tyresse was having about things in that took place in the past.

And yet, it fits right along with what Rick told Carl in an earlier episode that everyone will slip up at some point. Happened to Michonne in the same episode but Rick was there to save her. And happened to Bob earlier in the season. Still dumb move by him, but that was the point.

Yeah, but come on... He could have tied off the arm and got help. It's like he just gave up... I mean I was surprised he even bothered to fight the other zombie off. He just sat there bleeding out... The show/writers wasted his character on bull****.

You're right about the slip though, I just think the writers might as well have had him get bit in the face or higher up on the arm (shoulder or something), but no, instead his forearm bleeds out, nevermind all of the items he could have used to stop the bleeding. I guess it was just frustrating because the character basically owned zombies with just a hammer and then gets all weak and ****. "Oh it's too much, let me hallucinate because I got bit on the arm" blah blah, such a talented actor wasted on emo.

    OOPS.

    Really sorry, you're right.

    Anyway...

If anyone wanted to know what was said on the radio broadcasts in this episode, there were:

    1. "68 Citizens of the Republic have been killed in 4 deadly attacks along the main Constable District, the Marauders continue their campaign of random violence, moving across the countryside unfettered, with the Republic's military forces in disarray."

    2. "They are raiding the village by night, carrying out revenge attacks involving hacking innocents with machetes and in some cases, setting them on fire."

    3. "Troubling reports of cannibalism having broken out in refugee camps along the Republic's transportation corridor, and despite the string of victories by rebel forces, there are disturbing reports of increasing the brutality of their tactics, including the whole sale destruction of villages, burning down local prisons, targeting civilians and even the widespread mutilation of children and young mothers, and this seems like only the beginning of their campaign, but they may view as an endless war against....."

Tyrese then says "turn it off" and it ends.

lol like anyone here would be in the right frame of mind in a zombie apocalypse. i like to think i would be tough and could handle a zombie apocalypse but in reality, I have no idea how I would react to a real life zombie coming after me.

If the zombies were those from 28 days.weeks later, I'd agree with you, but these walking dead zombies are pitiful! The suspension of disbelief required to believe these zombies are DANGEROUS is greatly hurting the show IMO.

Walking dead zombies are so slow, its hard to understand how anyone can get caught by them. They are so rotten, weak that little force is required to break their skull or hold them off. Its been shown on the show, that goups of these zombies can be trapped or stopped by mesh fencing, GLASS, 9 ft walls and did i mention glass????

I'm not even asking for world war z movie steroid zombies, but if they weren't so pitiful weak, the show wouldn't need so many contrivances such as, silent ninja zombie, hiding in bush zombie, appear behind tree or under ground zombie, zombies raining from roof etc to stage a death by zombies.

Why don't they wrap magazines like they used to or wear some stronger clothes again? Oh right, plot device.

Hey Carl, want another gut wound?

I don't have high expectations for these episodes either. We've been at this for 5 years, and the odds and point spread of good/bad episodes are pretty consistent now.

The most disappointing thing about it is that I wanted Tyrese to fight back one-armed, and I wanted to see how his soul would turn. I might be alone on this but I liked Tyrese because he showed restraint in a world without any (except for that time he went raging and Rick had to enforce some police brutality to knock him out).

I also thought another death right after the last episode was poor timing and wasn't built up. It might be a more realistic look at how rock bottom the crew is with their morale and humanity, but it's just terrible storytelling that ruins a season's momentum (something they still do from time to time).

All in all, the best way to watch the Walking Dead is still to binge watch, so you have those lulls baked in, just like how a mediocre but sometimes rewarding movie would.

I think that's the big mistake they made with his character. They just couldn't ever find a constinstant tone to him. He just seemed so lost and was hoping he'd find his way back but never did. And what was vexing is that he was so distraught over losing Karen when other characters lost people much closer to them.

More often than not aren't zombies depicted as slow? They actually remind me a bit of the WWZ zombies (from the book). A few aren't that menacing but larger numbers pose a definite problem and can break down fortifications.

That's sort of the original point of zombies, it's the hoard mentality that takes you down. Of course there are one-offs, but overall being completely surrounded and overwhelmed is the what drives the fear.

Dumb and slow moving they slowly surround those more smart and agile, to the point where you are completely overwhelmed and suffocated...sort of like D&D.
