And yet the Lakers still ended up with Dwight Howard, which Kobe screwed up by doing the same thing he did to Snaq
The Lakers are not winning another championship in the next 10 years. Then again, the Rockets may never win another.
If the Lakers were any other franchise nobody would be worried about their situation... There's a lot of pressure on the lakers to be playoff contenders every year. Laker fans need to understand they are rebuilding. I think Jordan Clarkson, Juilus Randle and there top 5 draft pick will be an excellent way to rebuild. Once Kobe leaves and all that cap clears next season they will be collecting another top 5 draft pick and have a very promising future.
When you really think about it, only 5 teams out of 30 have won the championship in the last 10 years. Heck, only 8 teams have won it in my 27 year life time. (Compare this to 14 in football, 15 in hockey, and 18 in baseball and it makes you wonder why you bother caring so much about the NBA!)
Yes, by 2016/17 they should have a very good team. Young talent, and probably several high profile free agents.
As long as Lakers' fans happy with Kobe jacking unlimited shots each game "if he play " and chanting "MVP" , they deserve to be a lottery team for yearssss to come
Smug Jazz announcers talked about Kobe's reaction to the Laker's celebration versus Boston during today's pregame. Karma's a b****.
I noticed the Kobe FGA thing also and laugh when Laker fans think they can be a "fun" team to watch next season if Kobe is healthy and they're able to keep their top 5 draft pick. Some fans even hope he'll play beyond next season. Almost as clueless as Canaan fans.
Maybe he will play beyond next season? Nash kept forcing himself through injuries for how many years? Jordan got back into the game at 38, even though his body was saying 'no', he kept getting injured while training that summer before he came back. It's not so easy to quit for some players.
