Remember when Barkley took shots at Drexler and Elie for worrying about their contracts... Guy brought a lot of drama.

    http://www.clutchfans.net/news/574/si_article_barkley_elie_drexler_in_feud/

Drexler*responded, "My response to Charles is 'Grow up'. He was the one who was 28 pounds overweight last year. Not me."

Even Super Mario, now with the Spurs, had a few choice words in response to Sir Charles' comments. "I played hurt, and I played sick for those guys," said Mario. "We expected a lot from Charles. He should have gone out and done it, not talked about it. We did just fine without him before he got to Houston. We won two championships."

barkley is the funniest guy among the 4, he is blunt which i enjoy also, that crew would be real boring once he leaves, the only selling point would be shaq bragging all day

you over analyze what I'm saying...

in general terms, "looking at numbers" versus "looking at someone who just plays on another level" - you always go with talent

Actually I was laughing at Rocketman95 getting so worked up over something Charles Barkley said. I never knew that what rolled out of Barkley's mouth mattered so much to him. Him being a 99er and all, I figured nothing said by any of those jackasses bothered him because I remember what it was like for the Rockets in the past. I guess I was wrong.

Just saw screamin A smith talk about it on first take.

Pretty funny how he felt there were some teams that if they succeed would start to change people's minds, but when skip says well the spurs have been doing this for years his only reply is they have Tim Duncan and pop so they don't count. What kind of logic is that?

Then when he talked about Hardens 4th quarter barrage "I didn't see any analytics there" Well it's pretty obvious that he doesn't understand what analytics are then. Most all of his points in the quarter came in the paint, at the line or from 3, exactly what analytics say are the best ways to score.

It does really seem that these guys who hate analytics either just don't get it or they hate what they think analytics is when it's not what they think it is at all.

Charles Barkley vs Daryl Morey: Barkely is not smart enough to understand the Morey approach, no one should care what Barkely have said on the TNT. At least I stopped to watch this show several years ago.

Havent got nor will I waste my time here reading thru what sheep have to say. More than likely its going to be the I believe everything overly optimistic never question corporate attitude. what did catch my attention is people trying to minimize Moreys role when it comes to how we play. "oh yeah if we had lamarcus aldridge and sam cassel we would let them shoot the midrange" or what i just heard right now, Morey understands and values chemistry. Thats why we are always trading left and right huh?

If Charles understood probability and analytics he wouldn't of lost half of his money at the blackjack table.

Dude, we get it. You're anti-Morey. That's fine. Many of us don't agree with you . To the chemistry point, Morey is just doing what every other well run franchise does, which is get your star players, tinker with the role players until it works, hold on to the role players until you can find better role players. Do you think if this team was steamrolling everybody he would make changes?

The day Barkley shuts up will be the day Stephen A shuts up. Ain't never going to happen...

To those people saying the Rockets were lucky to get James Harden. The Thunder had offered him up to multiple teams, including the Wizards, before they went to the Rockets. Morey and his staff set themselves up to acquire an impact player, which they saw in Harden.

I used to enjoy Charles and think he was actually funny. He was like that drunk uncle that didn't have any sense. But his attacks on the Rockets every time they play on TNT have got tired and the whole group I don't find as entertaining anymore.

Only time I enjoy it now is when C-Webb is part of the group

I still think the Rox were lucky to get Harden. Other teams at the time were not wiling to part with Thompson, Beal, etc and OKC came to the Rox as a last resort so they wouldn't be empty handed when Harden decided to test free agent market. Any of those other teams give up Thompson or Beal, we wouldn't be talking about having Harden at this point. Pure luck.

I don't think you understand, was there some luck involved? Yes of course there was...but to claim that it was pure luck means that there was no skill involved and that's just incorrect.

A lot of things had to happen for that trade to go down, luck was definitely one of them, but you can't take credit away from Morey and his staff for acquiring assets, opening up cap space, and making themselves a viable option for the Thunder to trade with.
