Smith is hitting shots. He is everything that I hope he turned out to be. Great playmaker, doesn't take r****ded shots, hits the wide open shots if necessary, and plays solid defense. Too bad we can't keep him past this season.
Over the past 2 weeks, Smoove has been our best three point shooter save for Harden. But he is getting up there with Harden right now.
He does take some r****ded shots, but that's fine with me. I'll take 2-3 r****ded shots per game for all the other awesome stuff he is bringing.
This is the advantage of having multiple mobile 6'8-'9 guys. Pat Riley once said he'd rather have 4 6'9" guys rather than 1 7ft guy.
Now please...I'll take the tough two, but please no pull up 3's. They're looking to shoot that almost every possession. Just force them to a difficult two.
With the way he's playing, if he keeps this up. Some team is going to overpay him, even if it means just doing it to spite us. Yup. A few r****ded shots, but this isn't the same Smoove from Detroit. Same. Would be ecstatic if he takes the full MLE in lieu of more money somewhere else.
Would have gotten it by now if Bev hit some threes. He has probably missed 5 threes Harden has created for him.
I love watching Smith play, he's one of the best big man passers I've ever seen. He just seems aware of everyone on the court at all times, even though he looks to not be scanning around or paying attention. He just knows, and gets the ball there. Now with his 3 point shot hitting, and his rebounding and defense, J-Smoove is the 3rd best player on the Rockets.
Hah, where are the haters now?? Smith is looking like a pretty solid pickup, really nice tonight, especially since DMo is in foul trouble and no Howard...
