Yes, but what if BCS goes beyond being a prequel to becoming a sequel? And what if Saul Goodman does ultimately die? Just because it starts as a prequel doesn't mean it has to end that way. You could have a scenario where, towards the end of BCS, it reaches the point where Saul enters in BB to meet with Badger, and then immediately flashes forward to present-day Cinnabon, and then.... something happens from there? Doubt it, but the possibility exists. I think they also have to develop new characters, as well. Bob Odenkirk is great, but he's not Bryan Cranston, and as compelling as Saul can be, you have to have interesting side characters in this show, like Nacho- and of course Mike. Just like you had Jesse in BB. Does Jimmy/Saul ever get a sidekick? Who knows. One thing I think personally is that his brother is faking this electromagnetic hypersensitivity phobia crap. I think there's something deeper going on there.
I didn't think it was his brother either. (It is) The age gap appears too extreme. So far I have found the show a bit meh. Its not bad, but its not exciting either.
I'm totally hooked on this show already. That argument involving "Which legs to break?" was hilarious but in a subtle way that just reeked of good TV. But, of course, the main character has to be interesting and he so is. It feels like I'm watching "Breaking Bad" minus the blue meth. It's GOOD!!!
I'm definitely on board. Love the episodes so far. Gilligan is vastly approaching GOAT status. Does anyone else feel like it is easier to pick up on the subtle nuances in the show based on their experience watching BB? I've gleaned many little things from the first 2 eps just by paying attention to every detail.
Yep. And tie-ins to BB: 1. BB ends in a cook site (albeit for blue meth), and BCS begins in a cook site (OK, bake site, as in Cinnabons). 2. The restaurant where Jimmy talks to the 2 embezzlers is the same one where Mike and Jesse have dinner. 3. Saul's white caddy 4. Broken windshields.
5. Dented aluminum trash bin compared to the towel dispenser WW punched when he found out he had cancer.
Saul had just passed his bar? When was this stated? I assumed he used to work at the firm along with brother. He knew a lot of the people there and he seems to have some type of prior relationship with that blonde lawyer chick there.
i'm assuming that he just passed his bar considering his lack of clients and working PD cases for experience. i figured he was familiar with everyone there because his dad was an owner and he's been there a number of times trying to get his dad's money. there really isn't much clarification on anything, so one can only speculate.
The guy playing nacho is one hell of actor. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/NnFeTXRW2zY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Awww now I know why he seemed familiar, thanks. Played the game but somehow didn't make the connection.
