Iggy Azalea suing Papa Johns for giving out her phone number

I was just going to ask if it was bad that I have no idea who she is. It's a "she", right?

The kid should be fired, plain and simple. What could Papa Johns have done to stop this from happening? Does this girl (whom I have heard of, but have never seen/heard her music) think that Papa Johns can somehow keep the numbers from appearing for the driver? What if they get lost? What if they need to call back to check on something about the order?

Point is: it appears that AN employee, perhaps multiple, breached her privacy, not the company.

It's an inconvenience, and perhaps PJ should give her some free pizzas, but I find this immature to go on twitter and start ranting about a lawsuit. Cry me a river.

Companies are responsible for what their employees do with client information. She started talking about the lawsuit after the company responded to her complaint on twitter with jokes, which she apparently did not appreciate.

Yeah poor guy will be fired for it. But, I can't say the pizza chain isn't at fault. They have a responsibility for training the drivers and keeping the discipline of the workforce. They should be on the hook when one's privacy is breeched so they have a deep interest in stressing the importance of customer privacy when they train their people. Otherwise, they won't bother and just fire some poor mug whenever he does something dumb and no one is better off.

 

And this company protects customer information the same way that every other pizza place does. The EMPLOYEE took that information illegally. The company can't hide the number from people. They can't force people to forget what they have seen. If the company was making this information readily available to people who had no business with it, that's one thing, but a driver or order taker is GOING to get your number FROM YOU OVER THE PHONE.

The company should not be held responsible for the irresponsible choice of one employee. That employee should be fired, and that is all. Jokes on twitter? They responded with an apology and that they take things like this seriously, they asked that she please reconsider...I didn't see jokes.
