Beverly totals for last 5 games: 34pts, 14 assists, 16rebs, 6TOs 31% shooting, 22% 3pt Lawson totals for last 5 games: 80pts, 49 assists, 17 rebs, 13TOs, 53% shooting, 57% 3pt I choose the last 5 because it gives a glimpse into current skill and production. If we have a chance to make this trade(Lawson) then you freakin do it....
Considering that Westbrooks last few games he averaged 33,9,9....that isn't too bad. Instead of being critical of Lawson's game, why don't you come up with something to fix the PG problem? DO we keep Bev, and just hope that magically he gets better? If we trade for a PG, who would you get? Being critical is just lazy....you're better than that, right?
You gotta look at longer PGs that D it up. Not short guys that light it up and don't play D. That's why we won't trade for Lawson. I'm suggesting bigger PGs that can D it up and have some other offensive skill, either shooting or playmaking, and primary playmaking since Harden is our lone playmaker. See my sig....Goran, Rubio.........guys like that. Lawson is not on the Rockets radar. He doesn't D it up.
And to be fair...measuring how well a PG plays defense against a top 5 player may not expand to how good they are overall. Lawson also put up 22(5-7 threes) and 9 assists against a very good Westbrook.
is jarrett jack worth around 6 mil per year? he's averaging 12 pts which is higher than his career avg, but he's shooting only 22 percent from distance... i don't mind him giving us some mid range game, but anyone have a detailed analysis on his assists/playmaking ability? his defense? i think he'd be a solid acquisition.
1. He lost the matchup. 2. He did not water down Westbrook's efficiency Nils, Lawson does not (or cannot) D it up. He's not a good defender.
Rubio isn't a threat offensively...great distributor, but he can't shoot at all....Dragic is ideal, but Phoenix hasn't shown that he's available. Would Houston be better with any one of the three mentioned....yes. No doubt. I don't think anyone on this site has any real, definitive knowledge about who is, or isn't on the radar. No offense, but I've yet to see anyone predict on this site with anything more than tossing a dart at a board with names on it. Any true insider caught leaking potential trade targets on a fan site should, and would be fired. People want to feel important at clutchfans, and often play the "insider" card......I think that it's sad. I contribute by tossing out trade targets, and will attach trade machine approved trades....I have no knowledge, but I do know basketball.
The odds are growing daily that Dragic gets moved. He's not happy. He isn't going to re-sign there to play shooting guard. Either he gets moved now or he possibly wallks on them this summer or they have to move Bledsoe to accomodate Dragic and get him to stay. Dragic will PROBABLY be traded next week. And there is no question that we have prime interest in acquiring him. IT's been verified 9 ways to sunday. As for Rubio, he's the single guy that can take the league's worst team when he isn't playing and turn them into a .500 team when he plays. You have no clue what he does for Minny on both the offensive and defensive ends. The suggestion that he doesn't help an offense.....simply not true.
Ok....Bev is one inch taller than Lawson....he hasn't played great defense this year.....he gives us no offense. He is our starting PG....Lawson is basically an upgrade in every way....he even has a better defensive rating than Bev. And who cares if they lost....doesn't matter....Rockets lost last night too...does that have any bearing on how good Harden is?
I have watched probably 100+ games that Rubio's played in. He can drive....can pass....cannot shoot...plays good defense. We'll see if Dragic gets traded...I hope that he gets traded to Houston....but I'm not betting on it.
Ok...because Lawson is so bad defensively that he would have to be gifted to a team screaming for a good PG...have a good night.
No offense, but the fact that you have three shooting guards/small forwards on your "Rockets trade targets"(Joe Johnson, Rodney Stuckey, Eric Gordon)...two of them with some of the worst contracts in the NBA(23mill per,15mill per) doesn't make me think that you're too dialed in to what the team wants, or even needs. I'm thinking that these might be your favorite players...that's cool, but we certainly do not need a shooting guard/small forward.
Denver is on a 6 game losing streak and has a dumpster fire of a locker room. Odds are everyone outside of Nurkic is available and if Morey can get Lawson for a discount you better believe he will be all over it.
And Joe Johnson is what Morey's looking for???!!! I may have spotted a troll...why else would you even have this guy as a target. He makes $23 million this year and next.....my god, man
Exactly....thank you for the bit of reason that you've provided....it was getting weird in here. Joe Johnson.....smh
Ask yourself if Gorgui Dieng (and three more seasons on a rookie contract) is worth sacrificing the NO pick. If the answer is yes... Terry/Papa/NO pick for Dieng/Mo Williams/Chase Budinger Not the biggest fan of Mo Williams, but I have to admit he could be a good spark off of the bench and player to roll with on nights where Bev simply can't get it going. A major downside, though, would be adsorbing Bud's contract ($5M player option that he'll definitely exercise). All the same, we would be upgrading two positions. Might be worth it. All three players we would net fit the "win now" philosophy.
