so we're going to give up our 3rd unit of: Papa (ill miss you ), Alexey, Cannan and NOP pick. I think Nuggets could really benefit from Canaan, I firmly believe if Morey trades it will 110% be for Ty Lawson.
Long time lurker... I very rarely post, but am I one of the only guys who think Mo Williams would be a good fit? He shoots the long ball decent, can score if needed, can be had cheap, finals expeeience, previous allstar, no long term comittment is required, as his contract expires after the season( then we can chase dragic). I havent watched him enough to know if he plays D well or not. Could someone help on what we would need to give up? I cant imagine anything important, I know minny wants a pick for him which we have and abumdance of. BTW his salary is around 3.5m
He would be okay but Minny will never let go of their stars, they're trying to rebuild and they need Mo, Wiggins, Rubio etc.
Minny is definitely shopping him...hard. They are in tank mode and want draft pics, he is not in their future plans. He was just a stop gap untill rubio came back from injury.
I wouldn't call Mo a star, but he'd be a nice addition to Houston. I'm starting to think that Ariza might be expendable now that Brewer is playing well, and Jones is back. How about this little trade? Gets us a great(potentially) PG, a very good backup C, and a decent shooting SG/SF. It helps Brooklyn by getting DW off of the books, which helps them sell the team....requiring us not to give up too much. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=p6r3w8h Thoughts?
On 2-18-15, Rockets could switch Terry's spot in the above trade with Shved...I like that better bc Terry provides a good 3pt stroke, as well as a great veteran presence in the locker room. Btw....Plumlee could be a really nice fit on our team...big guy, plays a little D, rebounds, and can run the floor(which is vital on this squad). A good big is essential during Dwight's absence. Watch him play a bit...
Never said he was a star, just previous all star. Although he did score 52 this season. call him a younger j.terry if you will. Maybe it's wishfull thinking but I think dwight will be ready for playoffs, even if we have to sit him untill then. BTW emeka okafor j. O'neal and possibly amare will be, or are available to fill our front court. BTW I like the trade just dont want to give up 2 SFs. I like the team the way it is (deep) and dont want to change much, but thats just my opinion. Id rather give up draft picks and find a way to dump dorsey if possible I think capela is better option than him at this point.
Agree, for the most point...but in order to get certain guys, it might hurt our depth a bit. Hopefully, DM can find a way to shape our roster, improve the PG, while not gutting it.
DWill is washed up and has two more years after this one at ~$20m. That not only cripples the cap this offseason when they wont have much $$ to work with but the following one when the cap is set to explode with the new TV deal. Then you want to send out the teams best one on one / wing defender and dismantle the defense that has held this team together with Howard out so much this year. Not just no but hell no.
Here is my crazy trade proposal. Don’t hate! ;-) http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=pxjzsyr HOUSTON: IN: Knight, Dudley, Arthur, Henson OUT: NOP Pick, NYK 2nd Rounder, TJones, Canaan, Terry, Kpap, MILWAUKEE: IN: Lawson, McGee, Gee OUT: Knight, Henson, Dudley, Ilyasova DENVER: IN: Ilyasova, Terry, Kpap, Jones, Canaan, NOP Pick, NYK 2nd rounder OUT: Lawson, McGee, Gee, Arthur Rockets upgrade PG/C get some depth. Bucks get pass first PG and some backup C help Nuggets get assets/picks and expirings. Shed some salary.
I feel it's real bad for denver. Faried and jones and ilyasova, who is the type of contract they wanna shed. And they're not trading Lawson, he's their core. It would take a top 5 pick and a young stud and shedding a bad contract.
Maybe a 3 way with Philly where we get Lawson, Philly gets Dmo, and Denver get MCW and NOP pick. I think that could be fair but don't wanna part with Dmo
If Houston wants to upgrade PG, then they will have to give up some pieces that will hurt...if they just want a guy to bring the ball up, then Morey can go cheap...if they want a game-changing PG of the future, then we'll have to part with someone of substance, and some filler salaries....DMO will be asked for bc he is playing well. If we can turn him into a top 15 PG, then I'm in favor of it. PG is maybe the most important position in today's NBA...so if you can get one(and you desperately need one, like Houston does) then you do it. DMO started the year as a backup to Jones...and has played great...but you can't let all of the warm fuzzies get in the way of improving the team. We have a wealth of good PFs....we have an ok backup PG, and no real starter. In a perfect world, you keep everyone, and still add pieces at will....this is not that. I'd hate to see DMO, Pappa, and/or Terry go in a trade, but if it brings back Lawson, Goran, or another very good PG, then you must do it. It's science.
Exactly...if we could trade any one of those three PFs, I'd be ok with it bc we still have the other two...it's a position of strength, and there aren't enough mins to go around usually. Hopefully, by the time any trade goes through(that includes DMO), Jones will be almost back to speed physically. DMO has been great, but Houston MUST upgrade the PG....and DM knows this.....I expect a great trade.
Getting Lawson looks like a typical DM move....taking advantage of a bad situation in Denver.....that would be beautiful. If we have to trade Ariza to get it done, there are worse people than Chandler to replace his contributions. Blurb on how out of control things are in Denver: “It just looks like you almost have to try to lose as bad, and in the way we’ve been losing,” he said. “At that point, something gives. The decision-makers at some point are going to make a decision. And everybody is going to have to live with it. Then it’s out of our control.” Shaw is basically saying that the players are tanking in an effort to get Shaw fired, at least that’s the way I read it. Maybe they are and that’s wrong but it certainly shows that Shaw has lost control of this team. He’s lost the locker room and if the players are not going to play for him, then a change has to be made. Shaw went onto say: “The only thing I can control is doing my job to the best of my ability. And that’s what I expect them to do. Do I feel like that’s always been the case? No. Do I share responsibility in that? Yeah.” YIKES!!!
In case you're wondering....Lawson tonight versus OKC 19pts(4-6 on 3s), 8 assists, 2TOs. That's like 3-4 games of Bev's stats.
