He's definitely on the tail-end of the list when it comes to the starting PGs.

Its so frustrating because he would absolutely excel as a backup. We desperately need an upgrade.

He definitely needs to go back to his more suitable role of backup PG, because his style doesn't have staying power. I forget sometimes how much we liked his game when he would come off the bench for Lin (who stank it up bad on occasion) and inject some toughness into the game. We could probably benefit with Lin off the bench in these situations.

You are 20,000 posts too late to the party.

Okay. So keep reading the posts and then re-consider. What if we included Jones.
Dieng is good no doubt. But only untouchables for Minny are Wiggins and Rubio. Dieng isn't as unrealistic especially when he's an actual center and theyve committed long term money to Pek. Jones is a natural 4 who's also young, so he can grow with wiggins and rubio. And the NoP pick which isn't amazing but with jones is pretty good value.
And it wouldn't be too much for us to give up either cuz it'd leave us with dmo smith Howard and Dieng for our big men.

This is all about Kevin Love. The relationship is Love and Harden. We're waiting to see if Love asks out. I don't have him on my trade list simply because everybody already knows if he tells Lebron he wants out that we are going to be hot on the trail to trade for him.

Bev is sturgggaling. We need some fresh blood in there and let Terry go to Gar3ia's old role.

Unrealistic is Lawson or Rubio or Knight.
Dieng is a tough get. But I disagree it's impossible. Minny knows it'll take time with wiggins and Rubio. Do they keep two centers for the next 3 years, or lose Dieng but go into the summer with much better cap space, two lottery picks, and Jones.
Maybe not, but wouldn't say unrealistic.

Listening to espn nba insiders show, they said that Dallas is almost a lock for both O'Neal and Amare. However it seems that Amare is real loyal to Dolan and wouldn't want to leave.

Blanche is the next man up after those two. Wouldn't want IMO

With Dwight's health faltering, Morey is now less likely to make a "win now" move. He knows that adding a Dragic-level player won't get the Rockets over the hump as long as Dwight is not around. I see Morey being less willing to risk future assets until Dwight's health status is clarified-- perhaps sometime this summer. This season is a write-off.

Good thing we have Harden under contract for many more years so we don't have to worry about him departing at least.

My thinking is along the line with yours. I now believe that Dwight will opt in next summer. Morey gonna have to get very creative for the.next couple of seasons

We need a big who can consistently hit a mid range jumper. Carl Landry comes to mind.

I know we need a point guard, but I wish the Rockets had a big with a mid-range jumper.

Dwigh's is likely to still opt out, with a promise of being offered a long term max no matter what-- which is likely what Morey promised Dwight to get him to sign in the first place.

Morey can't do that. The signs are all there that he isn't close to ever getting fully healthy. James would almost have to force a trade out of here if that takes place.

This is the last season the Rockets can add a Dragic level player while paying them based on pre-cap-jump money. The Rockets won't have much cap space in the offseason without gutting the team.

In 2016, it's basically Durant-or-bust for everyone. If the Rockets bust on that, they'll be cap-screwed anyway since DMo and Jones will be both in line for fat raises. And the fact that every team gets gazillion cap increase means severe overpayment of FAs for at least 1-2 years.

You believe that Morey would actually look into that future landscape and decide to sacrifice the present for that? I can't imagine why Morey would do this. If Morey passes on Dragic or Lawson or someone of that level, the market isn't getting any cheaper in the future.

^^ Without a healthy Howard, the Rockets have no present to sacrifice. Morey believes in needing 3 max-level stars.

Do you realize that when you say this you are saying we need a whole new system?

Why do you guys keep bringing up we need a guy to take the lowest percentage shot in basketball? Why?

    We've already got them.

THERE ARE NO BIGS WITH A GREAT MID-RANGE JUMP SHOT. LaMarcus himself shoots 42% on that shot.

No way. If Dwight's 2015-16 season is anything like this one, then Morey and Les would be insane to give him an extension in either 2016 or 2017 should he decide to not opt out. You either demand he take a massive cut in pay(no other team's gonna give him 20 mil a season if he's got chronic knee problems) or let him walk.
