he did bench them. When Bev was getting dominated by Lillard, McHale benched bev for almost the whole second half.

 

He had a bad game, his first one in a while. How about you blame our so called "starting point guard" who just continues to show he's a backup at best.

 

Yall realize Harden had 45/9/8 tonight in less than 40 min. Sigh. Had we won this game, this is the headline stuff. OTO, Bev had 2 pt and get this 1 freaking assist. Sigh. Please, Morey, you can't be serious thinking Bev is the peg for the round hole.

 

What a way to lose a very important game (another one). Amazing. Harden against the Blazers!

 

Beverly is not even a point guard he's more like a combo 2

 

Agreed, at least Lin can create for himself.

Beverly if he's not playing defense gives you nothing, in fact hurts the team because he's trying to do more than he should. Every time he wastes a whole possessions dribbling he should be benched.

He can't even make an entry pass to Dmo without dribbling 4 times making the pass so predictable.

 

Terrible performance by Bev and Motiejunas. But like the other day in Detroit, this match showed, that the Inside D is horrible without Dwight. Portland had so many easy layups.

Just one good quarter isn't enough to beat a strong Western team. This one would've been so important, keeping the Blazers away AND winning the tie.

 

Obviously D-Mo being 1-7 from the free throw line hurt us, but again, Beverley, Dorsey, Brewer, Terry and Jones combined for 7-28 from the field.
This loss is hardly on D-Mo. It was a team effort. Only Harden and Smith are exempt from criticism.

The easy excuse is that Beverley is hurt some how. He does tend to be an injury prone guy. But that's not what my eyes see. He's moving just fine, just a split second too late on his contests, and other PG's seem to relish making shots over him now that he got his reputation out there as a pest for the world to appreciate. Reminds me of Shane Battier in his last few years with us. The press started gushing over how he was a "no stats all star", then all of a sudden all the SF's out there decided to make a point to knock shots down all over his ineffective hand-at-your-eyes-and-not-the-ball defense.

 

Really bad second quarter and last minutes, we need to be more disciplined in the final minutes, Ariza and Bev can't create and when they're doubling Harden we don't know what to do. Meanwhile DMo setting picks or standing at the 3 point line.

Bad game for DMo, he needs to be more aggresive and rebound better.
I don't think he can improve his freethrow % he was bad at europe too, but 1 of 7 is inexcusable.

 

The way Pat played, looks like he needs some rest. Give Canaan and Nick and even Shved some run. Please.

Maybe start of the 4th, if McHale wants to go small ball because he's resting Smith while LMA was resting, he could have played Papa vs Leonard. Brewer vs Leonard was just a mismatch. Papa at least is heavier and can get some rebounds.

Something to note for the coaching staff for games in the future.

 

Pabrick Beverly is the source of the problem. We rely way too much on Harden to do everything. PGs are supposed to drive and dish, look at his FTs for the whole season. Only backup PGs have those mediocre numbers. He isn't driving and creating calls, he is just watching and enjoying the MVP season of Harden. He plays too much on the outside, he needs to change his play, or it is going to hurt the Rockets in the playoffs.

 

Getting the team ready, what exactly does that entail? Unless people were in the locker room and during huddles, no one knows for sure what was said and what was not.
