smoothie, have you seen Jameer Nelson play this season? I wouldn't put him over Canaan or Nick Johnson. He has been beyond bad for Dallas this season. I do agree with your observation that Terry is more like a 2 guard than a 1. Jarret Jack and Goerge Hill are probably the only ones on your list that I would take on the Rockets. I would much rather go with Canaan or Johnson over Watson, Nelson, Williams and maybe even Chalmers.
I know right? A career 37% 3pt shooter that is averaging 10 assists and 16 points a game a game is exactly what the Rockets need IMO. I think Morey would pull the trigger on that the 2nd it came available, if it ever became available. I just don't see Denver doing that deal.
Lawson, obviously, but it depends upon the price... One player's trade value has completely nosedived, while the other is practically leading the league in assists and playing at a very high level.
Yeah most trades suggested are not realistic. The ones who think we have enough to get Lawson need to understand, for most drafts teams will be ecstatic to land a player as good as Lawson with an 11th pick. So basically we don't have anything to trade for Lawson as long as we are not including Harden. Denver is a willing trade partner but are not trading Faried or Lawson. They are building around those guys. And Nurkic. Which also means if we were willing to part with Dmo along with the NOP pick Denver wouldn't have much interest in that
It doesn't matter if you think Canaan is better than those guys...McHale likely does not, and I want McHale to play somebody other than Terry as the backup 1, preferably one with a decent A:TO ratio. If Morey wants to make a move to force Canaan into more playing time, then I'm all for it. But if he's keeping Terry then we need a better distributor on the bench.
And you really think Kevin will play someone like Jameer instead of Terry when he is already not playing Canaan? I doubt it. And no, I wouldn't trade Terry for those guys.
George Hill is a better defender, shoots a higher FG %, has a higher 3-pt %, and averages on 2 points less per game despite playing 22 minutes to Lawson's 36 minues per game. And I agree that none of these players with the exception of GD is worth giving up a 1st rd draft pick. Matter of fact, it would be plain stupid for Morey to surrender a future pick for a modest increase in personnel.
Maybe then we can get her back <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/AaP674BgAvc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I hate hate that Jarrett Jack actually gets some much love on this site, he is soooo overrated he is a dribble dribble dribble dribble the shot clock down type of point guard. Yall hate the way bev runs a team what till u get Jarrett here and he kills the shot clock over and over.
i have seen him play, and while the guys on my list aren't dragic or lawson, they are still better at being a point guard than terry or canaan...both of which play like shooting guards. we need a facilitator when james comes out of the game. if that player can also score, defend, and shoot 3's, even better. i just don't realistically see a player like that on the market. when we get to the playoffs, a veteran point guard coming off the bench who can facilitate the offense and stay away from bad decisions will be a life saver. canaan isn't that. and as we both agreed, terry is better off the ball. and i agree with you that jack and hill would be the best options of the bunch. jack might get moved to preserve dwill's trade value. he's not worth anything as a 6th man earning $20M. they may have to force hollins to start dwill by trading jack. the pacers have a log jam in the backcourt so either of their guards could be moved. picking up any of those vet PGs is an upgrade. i see morey making 2 under the radar moves when trading for an all star doesn't pan out. 1 is getting a vet backup pg who we can trust in a playoff series. and 2 is an upgrade over dorsey incase dwight can't make it to the playoffs.
Can we get Chris Paul? It will help the Clips get a better draft pick and clear some minutes for Austin Rivers.
We talkin about Reggie Jackson? The dude who is behind Dion Waiters in the rotation for OKC? Pass. He did have a nice game today, but he's a bench player.
Absolutely Lawson. Would gladly give up the Pels pick, Canaan, KPap, and Shved, plus their 2015 2nd rounder back for Lawson. I think that is pretty good value for them and doesn't cost us too much. Unless it is Dragic, we aren't going to get anything better than Lawson and he is actually signed for a good term (barring a bad injury) considering the cap bump that will happen for summer 2016. He would still be on contract for $13.2M for 2016-17. We could have Lawson, Harden, Ariza, DMo, Jones, Capela, and Johnson for under $47M, which would mean we would have about $30M in cap room if Dwight opts out. About $8M in cap space if he opts in. About the perfect setup to potentially have your starting 5, plus backup 1, 4, and 5 positions locked up with another 1/10 of the cap to commit to a wing. And that is without considering adding a 31-35 pick in this year's draft. Could potentially have your 9 man rotation with 1/10 of the cap for a #10 guy with min salaries filling out the rest.
Hope so pimpin! James needs help. McHale has no choice but to play him heavy minutes and Harden almost does all the playmaking for this squad. Reason why Reggie Jackson could be a lowkey addition. He can create off the dribble. Always scored against us.
