People who don't claim Houston as their own when they're from the suburbs are simply trying too hard. Who gives a ****? Guess what? In 15 years, EVERYBODY south of Madisonville is going to be part of Houston. I grew up 10 minutes from Tomball. Anybody who "reps" that place is a moron.

The only thing Tomball has after that dealership went bust is Goodson's cafe

It makes sense though. Cleveland is the main city in NE Ohio, so people not from there will often say they are from Cleveland when talking to someone from out of state. That's how it usually is, which is why Butler's situation confused me. You would think being from a tiny town (growing suburb now), that he would claim Houston. When I lived in Katy and someone outside of Houston asked me where I was from, I'd say the Houston area.

**** use to go down at Katy Mills though back in the day. But yeah, Katy has zero spots unless you are at someone's house. Hush use to be our club but they closed it. :(

Its all good if you are a family man!
For young people though, it blows.

Yeah man. Haha. Katy Mills used to be the spot if you were too young to smoke or drink. Once I hit 18 though, really no reason to hang there. Just hang at Hookah bars now and that's inside the beltway.

Every young boy in Texas City dreams of making enough money one day to move to league city.

Like others, when I'm asked by someone not from Texas, I say Houston. Otherwise, The Woodlands. I would, however, never ever say I'm from Cornroe.

I think towns that are economically dependent on Houston is a suburb and should be claimed under the Greater Houston umbrella. So, that'd include all those big white-flight towns Sugar Land, Katy, The Woodlands, etc, that wouldn't be half their size (or perhaps exist at all) without Houston. My impression is that Tomball hadn't been really pulled into Houston's orbit until much more recently, and maybe still isn't really wholly there. Besides, during the transition its only natural that some would resist.

For myself, I grew up in an unincorporated area very close to the Houston border. But, the USPS considered my address to be in Houston.

Thank You; I lived in Arlington at the time Jerry World was built, and TV announcers always refer to it as just North Texas or still claim it as Dallas (even though Arlington is closer to Fort Worth than it is to Dallas). That upsets me to no end, because I enjoyed my 2 years in Arlington. Repped!

But, born in Houston (3rd Ward, to be exact) with my church still there, it will always be home for me!

This is the Greater Houston Area:

If you see your town/city on this map...you live with the Greater Houston Area. If you live out side this region, you may or may not rep Houston...Also, please take lightly what Chris Broussard has to say about anything, he has been known to make up stuff...

I was born and raised about 100 yards away from the 610 west loop. Right next to the Jaquet street park in Bellaire. Lived there all the way up to jr high.

If they know the area, I say my area and maybe even neighborhood. If they are not from the area I say Houston.
