    Really optimistic Doctor.

Dwight Howard has no cartilage in his knee joint, basically degenerative joint disease. That isn't structurally right either.

They got to keep selling those tickets. "Tiny cartilage spot missing! Dwight is fine! No big deal that we're injecting stem cells into his knee!"

List of Rockets who have been injured badly to the point of trade or retirement off the top of my head:

    - Ralph Sampson
    - Brent Price
    - Charles Barkley
    - Hakeem Olajuwon
    - Tracy McGrady
    - Dikembe Mutombo
    - Yao Ming
    - Dwight Howard

We have a history, so it's expected that we have been a bit jaded as far as injury prognosis goes.

This is not bad. Hope they can cure whatever other symtoms are.

I'm taking a doctor's word over all of yours....as of right now I'm feeling confident Dwight will return to form.

I'm not disputing the woeful injury history of the Rockets best players. Just saying there is always very little optimism from the fan base whenever there is bad news. I try to remain optimistic. They haven't said Dwight is out for the season. The negativity is just a coping mechanism. I understand some of you guys don't want to get your hopes up in case there is worse news on the horizon.

Meh, every time we get our hopes up, something is announced a few days later to crush it mercilessly. Now it's just like "OH NO! THE SKY IS FALLING!" and then when we get good news, it's "OMG THANK THE LORD!"

So how exactly do you know more about Howard's knee than the doctor who was working with Dwight?

I'd say fans have come a long way. Remember when some claimed Dwight didn't even have a knee injury, that he was sitting out just to avoid the media over an abuse claim?

Blaming the Rockets for Barkley is kind of disingenuous. His knees and back were shot well before he got here. And the general consensus has been that Ralph and Yao were land mines waiting to detonate, so again I don't thin it is fair to consider them as primary culprits. Maybe they should have not drafted them as high risk, but I don't think that survives scrutiny unless you think Steve Steponovich and Jayson Williams are horribly underrated. And Deeke and Hakeem both were older than dirt. They were "old age" retirements.

In short, I think your list is a little bit padded to make it look more alarming than it is.
