I thought this was worth a new thread, since the other has died down, and this is an actual experienced doctor giving his opinion. He's a former NFL head physician with 17 years of sideline experience, Dr. David Chao

    Starts around 35-36 mins

    J.R. examines Dwight's knee edema. Words holds key. Non-surgical = days, Surgical = weeks/months.

    :p

Unless he has looked at his knee, meh.

Wish he could see that MRI. Pretty large range of what could be going on.

Thanks for sharing though, cool podcast.

I´d be perfectly fine with sitting him 2 months - I just hope he can come back as strong as he was last playoffs. We don't absolutely need him for the regular season, but without a healthy Dwight in the playoffs we don't have a shot.

He needs to go to Germany or Florida. Doctors in Houston are too much on the up and up.

We practice defensive medicine more so than other countries because of lawsuits.

Dr. Chao's updated prognosis: I know a good microfracture surgeon. He already has you scheduled for mid-May, Dwight.

Dwight is probably regretting about making an ad for Memorial Herman/Methodist.

    Its a JINX!

What does this mean? They aspirated bone marrow from Dwight's knee???

(My mom had that done, checking for another disease, which I won't mention here.) Mystified

The broken medical system in which we live. Why cure when you can treat and make $$$

Doctor, without knowing precisely what the damage is, would say it's time for Rockets fans to crack each other's heads open and... feast on the goo inside??

I believe they aspirated bone marrow from Dwight's pelvis (autologous), did some funky stuff to it, put it back in his knee, and pray for good results

I guess dwight has a "soft" knee lol. Man I don't care of he's out until playoffs start nearly Aslong as he can keep in somewhat shape. Rest whatever. My guess is he actually needs surgery but he's holding off so he can play. I mean think about it. Second opinions from doctors and now this.

    Welp.

This just goes to show we're screwed as fans trying to look for what's credible or not. For a guy like that to be in such a position, for such a long time...which is why I question things that come from team doctors. You never know who's the real deal out there.
