Really? I don't think I've actually run into that one. Could be once or twice and I'm just not remembering. Either that or the sheer stupidity of it caused a minor stroke.

I can't speak to XB1's discs for sure, but I do definitely know that PS3/4 games have an amazing scratch-resistant coating (I'm relatively certain XB1 games would have it too). You can just buff the scratches right out. You'd have to put forth real effort to hurt those things. So why in god's name do you need a protection plan?

Then again, like seclusion, my games are never anywhere but the system or their case, so I never really understood how people so consistently damage their discs in the first place. It's all a mystery to me.

For anyone who wants to know, I did keep my pre-order for Dying Light, and it's really been a blast.

My biggest negative is that all weapons permanently break eventually. I like loot-hunting games and finding that awesome weapon that you can keep forever, but I guess Techland is drawing a line in the sand for this game that says this isn't meant to be a loot-hunting game about killing zombies by the hundreds. And that's fair.

The combat is quite well-done, and the parkour is really excellent. It's not quite as refined as Mirror's Edge, but at the same time it's almost more fun, because the environments are more forgiving... you don't come to a dead stop like you did sometimes in Mirror's Edge when you hit a tough part. The story is 1000% better than Dead Island's, and the voice-work is top-notch.

I've got to echo what some other reviews have said, that while the main storyline is pretty good, the game is at its best when you're just wandering around doing sidequests. I've found it pretty hard to put down.

At least, it probably will be until Monster Hunter 4 is out. At which point my social life is 100% over for several months.

Has anyone downloaded battlefield hardline beta? It's supposed to come out today. I can't seem to find it.

I played the original beta for it several weeks ago. I hated every moment of it. I'm a huge BF4 fan and will continue to play it. Skipping Hardline.

How would you compare it to TLOU?

I played bf: bad company 2 and battlefield 3 for Xbox 360. I loved it, must've logged in about 100 hours in each game.

But I hated bf4 on next gen. The gameplay and graphics reminded me too much of call of duty. I wanted to like it but I just couldn't get into it.

I completely understand where you're coming. Hardline is the next step, it's even more like CoD. Very arcade feel to it.

Pretty disappointed that you can't play movies from a USB drive. Bad money making scheme from Sony. It looks like I'm going to be building a PC for entertainment purposes now.

Heh that's funny. I thought Bf4 was horrible just like the other games in the series. (No offense intended to anyone who likes it, I'm not saying it's a bad game, just not good for myself)

So, they're alienating their own user base along with everyone else. That's ****ing impressive.

Plex app is $5 monthly or $40 for a year I believe. Allows you to stream local files.

    They're very different-feeling games.

I was actually a little down on TLOU when I was first playing it, though I found I liked it a lot better toward the end, most of all when playing as Ellie. The storytelling is miles ahead in TLOU because it's a very linear experience, so the pace can be controlled... and the characters really grow.

In Dying Light, the narrative of what I played so far isn't really that bad, but compared to TLOU it's over-acted and there aren't any particular characters I care about a lot. Where it's really strong is the side-quests... many are simple fetch-quest types of things, but the voice acting and expressive faces sell it.

Combat-wise, they both have stealth-type elements, but surprisingly I felt like TLOU encouraged fighting more. There are way more zombies per area in Dying Light, and fighting many at once is just never, never a good plan. Best solution in Dying Light is usually to run.

It's not really a fair comparison though. TLOU is a linear, sincere, character-driven narrative. Dying Light is a Dead Island + Far Cry + Mirror's Edge open-world romp that's irreverent as often as it's serious.

Wait... did I actually beat RC to posting this? Seems impossible. He probably posted it in another thread somewhere.

^Pretty hype for this game after playing P4G on Vita
Everything looks so stylish about it and love the Thievery theme

Just hope that we get a North American release this year. Haven't played a good JRPG in awhile

Mainly kids, but some people are too lazy to put the discs back in the case and leave them out.

Hello, what is the best way to find local player count of games? This website coop optimus is nice but I think it only covers coop games. I often find myself often google searching the game's back cover and zoom in to look at the offline player count. There is gotta be a better way.
