I just ordered a new Raspberry Pi 2. I have to wait a few weeks because they are already sold out and I haven't decided what I am going to do with it. Does anyone own one? What do you use it for?

I've built openvpn servers for several remote sites that work pretty well and stable. 99% of people buying this, me included, are looking for better home theatre (xbmc, plex) performance.
i am considering buying one. Plex is a secondary reason. The primary reason is to make it strictly for banking needs.
Yeah I will probably be getting a Pi mainly for streaming applications. You can also use it as a retro gaming device.
I just ordered RaspberryPi 2 also. Looking forward to the extra processing power and RAM. I have the Model B right now, works great. I mainly use it for streaming, and testing out different firmware. I really wanted to get this device called Tessel which runs mainly on JavaScript, but it's pretty expensive compared to Pi. I think this time around, I'm definitely going to put it to some good use with making something interesting out of it.
Damn. Nice little device to keep my plex server going and not having to run the desktop. Not sure I'd have all that much use for it but maybe plex.
That is what I am most likely doing for this one. I have emulators on my laptop but I want to play Ocarina of Time on my TV. I also think I am going hook it up to an external hard drive and load it up with movies. How does it handle web browsing? I saw some pretty awesome car head unit installations with a touch screen, GPS dongle and backup camera installed. I might do one of these next.
i plan on getting one once they're widely avail...i don't wanna mess around waiting for it to ship. i'll prob run xbmc/kodi on it
I almost ordered one Sunday. I was about to finish checkout on Amazon but I was a little drunk at the time and fell asleep mid checkout. I wake up Monday and see the press releases about the new one. I got pretty lucky I guess. I think mine ships in a couple of weeks.
I may do something like that as I already have a whole library of NES/SNES/N64/Sega/Neo-Geo roms that I currently play on my hacked Wii. It would be nice to use a controller other than a Wii controller.
Doesn't look likely that you'll be able to use it as the server. It might not be able to handle all the transcoding. Right now, it seems better suited as the client device. So it's a good buy for someone who doesn't have a Smart TV that'll let you use Plex.
Mining is only profitable for large industrial scale players. You're better off keeping your day job but buying bitcoin as part of your savings
I have the resources and commitment to become a large scale industrial Bitcoin miner. I have the funds right now to buy at least fifteen Rasberry Pi 2 units and possibly another five if I pool money with my brother. I'm serious about this as I'm keen to quit my day job.
