I don't get you guys. Fourth best record in the entire NBA. Our rotation in constant flux due to injuries and trades. I would say the team has outperformed its talent level. This team is Harden and a bunch of role players. Even when Dwight has played, he hasn't been an elite player. Look at the teams that are in front of the Rockets. These are teams that have had their core players playing together for far longer than a few weeks like the Rockets have. Has McHale coached any worse this season than Doc Rivers or Rick Carlisle. The Clippers were supposed to be a true contender. After the Mavs traded for Rondo the "experts" were saying this made them a true contender. Hey look, the Rockets have a better record than both the Clippers and the Mavs. All the changes in the Rockets roster this year, fourth best record, and all you guys want to do is complain. I don't get it.
Give the people something to complain about or else they'll just complain. There's not really much to complain about but CF will find soemthing and it just so happen to be the coach, as it was with JVG, RA and other coaches.
Rip Van Rocket if you don't stop speaking the truth. Exactly sir!! Like I stated before, Mchale deserves some credit. We can be the #1 seed right now and people on here will complain.
I loved JVG and RA. Those are two coaches I believe you can win titles with, if they had enough talent. They never had near as much healthy talent, as Rockets coaches, as this years or last years Rockets teams. McHale on the other hand...I feel is one of the worst current coaches in the NBA, and certainly the worst coach in franchise history. All the signs are there guys, you just have to read them.
F that, Rockets got talent. At the end of the day its the 5 guys on the floor who make the plays, shoot, rebound, set screens, ish like that. These are paid professionals, coaching only gets you so far. It starts with Harden and the other 11 have to feed off him. Ya need to chill.
You will get it You will get it in the playoffs. His brainless pig head will kill the team in playoffs. Didn't you watch playoffs last year? His defensive strategy agaginst Aldridge was only changed until we lost 2 games to Portland in a row. So far I haven't see any change in his capabilities this season. Honestly, he is not a coach but a puppy manipulated by Morey. That is why he got extension. Based on what we have on the court, we should at least West Final team. But now it will be so lucky if we can win the first round.
You have to understand nba basketball from a coaching/strategic angle to really understand what your saying. Mchale knows basketball really well he just not a good coach at all.
Bwhahaha have you ever coached on that level before? I guess every coach who had the luxury of going after the great Michael Jordan were brainless pegs as well. Or how about the Spurs coach who didn't have an answer for the great Mr. Hakeem Da Dream were brainless as well. Oh and I'm not comparing LaMarcus to those greats. Just showing you that when a player is hot, there is nothing you can do about it sometimes. If you played the game before, you would know this already.
Did you watch the playoffs last year? Mchale put everyone we had on him and Aldridge burned everyone. He was draining shots from 18ft with a hand in his face. When players get that hot there is NOTHING anyone can do to stop them. Unfortunatly Aldridge had the best 2 games of his life agaisnt us.
SB I am wondering whether you watched the playoffs last year. Was LaMarcus hot when Asik defended him in the rest of the games? Was he hot in series against Spurs? Was Splitter a better defender than Asik? I remember in Game 1 we led by 10 with 3 minutes remaining. When they hacked D12, Mcfail got D12 off the court and let T-Jones 1v1 defend LaMarcus. Then you saw what happened. A strategically wrong decision may ruin a series and he made so many. I still can't get Lillard's that big open shot out of my mind. Playoffs is the platform where wisdom of a coach is key component to a team's success. Unfortunately, we don't have such a thing.
Was he that hot after the 2 game outburst? Same coach, different results. Correlation doesn't equate to causation. For 2 games LMA played at a level he has only reached maybe 10 or so times in his entire career. He has faced coaches more incompetent or at least at the same level of incompetency as McHale a lot more times than that. Sounds like it's more likely that for him to get that hot it's more on LMA himself, not some coach being so stupid that it unleashes an unstoppable version of LMA. Like someone said before, these weren't just wide open foul line and out jumpers. He was hitting turn around 20 footers with a hand in his face A LOT. The defense didn't change in the series, he just stopped hitting improbable jumpers. And I say all this as someone who thinks that McHale at his best is a middle of the pack guy. I just think his detractors try to use a lot of stuff to build a case against him that just doesn't belong. There are a fair amount of legitimate reasons to dislike the coach, to me LMAs outburst doesn't belong.
SB Are you sure you watched the game? If so, you should test your memory capabilities. Look at what happened in the last remaining 3 minutes in Game 1. Since we lost Game 1 and Aldridge scored more than 40, we should have made change. Why was T-Jones got started again? See how Aldridge performed in the rest of series when Asik defended him. Did Aldridge burn Asik? You sure?
But but the totality of his coaching strategy is "Play Harder" "Get a rebound" etc etc... /sarcasm These people are simple minded fools. Just let them simmer in their own idiocy and hatred without feeding them.
