Denver thinks they can make the playoffs this season. Their ownership thinks they are a 50+ win team under achieving.
Thanks for posting and welcome. I get what you're saying as far as negotiations are concerned but I'd but there's NO WAY Milwaukee moves Knight. W/ all of the recent success they'll give in to his demands and overpay before they let him walk
Would love to get Knight, but I don't see why the Bucks would ever think about trading him unless he is dead set on leaving. The Bucks have a lot of potential on that team with him, Giannis and Parker. Bucks would have to get a suitable replacement in order to move Knight. Possibly why they are looking at Lawson? A four team trade between the Nets, Nuggets, Bucks and Rockets that sends the Nuggets Lopez (and filler), the Bucks get Lawson (and filler), Rockets get Knight (and filler) and the Nets get filler and draft picks (NOP pick and the picks Denver is offering). Would be a crazy and blockbuster trade.
It seems to me that any deal for any quality get from Denver or Milwaukee or Nets = absorbing as many bad contract $$$s as necessary to complete the deal. Sanders or DWill or McGee types have to be rerouted. The challenge is not so much the talent match but rather the superfluous contracts match. BTW - - Denver's problem? Look to the LA/St Louis Rams.
This is why nothing happens til the deadline. Denver's owner or GM is jerking off the fans. And wants some sucker team (Brooklyn would qualify) to take McGee off its hands...as if acquiring Frankenfoot would help Denver. I swear, some of these GMs want to staunch a bleeding wound with a punji stick.
I could see the Rockets wanting Knight. What I don't see is why the Bucks would want to trade him. Maybe if we could help them unload both Ilyasova and Sanders? NYK In: Sanders, Dorsey, NYK 2nd NYK Out: Bargnani HOU In: Knight, Ilyasova HOU Out: Capela, Canaan, Papa, TJones, NYK 2nd MIL In: Capela, TJones, Canaan, Papa, Bargnani MIL Out: Knight, Ilyasova, Sanders I don't think I would include the NOP 1st or DMo, which would probably be a deal breaker. Still, you'd think MIL would consider an offer that gives them considerable cap relief.
Doc has been a fairly reliable source of information. He's been a true "insider" in that he's been out of the org for a while now but it seems like he still has good sources of information.
You guys realize that if the Bucks were to waive and stretch Larry Sanders, the would be paying him & have his salary partially on their cap up until 2022? The Bucks need to find a way to do something else with Larry Sanders rather than just waive him. The Josh Smith waiving was far out of the ordinary. I would be incredibly shocked if the Bucks went this route. If I were the GM of the Bucks, Id find a way to maybe trade his salary for other bad salary at a higher dollar amount that expired a year earlier. It might be worth it to use Henson as a bargaining chip. Maybe Sanders/Henson for Landry & Jason Thompson as a HYPOTHETICAL type of scenario. Either way, I do not see the Bucks waiving Sanders. Its a different scenario than Josh Smith. Josh was a veteran player and they did him a benefit by waiving him so he could go elsewhere. Sanders... he's a player you can just send away from the team if he's a distraction. The league will also support them being able to suspend him long term if he's not living up to his contractual obligations which will save the team money anyways. I don't buy it that he's going to maybe get waived.
I'm not really sure about the insider's report on Brandon Knight's extension situation. Knight is going to be a restricted free agent in a Summer of PG's that will feature Rajon Rondo, Goran Dragic, R. Jackson, and don't sleep on some names like Cory Joseph who could be a sleeper that teams target. The Bucks made a good decision based on supply and demand to let Knight be restricted this Summer. No reason to bend over backwards to extend him early. By all accounts Knight has been their best perimeter player, and it vital to their success in creating for their offense. They are a young playoff team that is only going to get better. It would be make ZERO sense for them to look to trade him. After next season they will have massive amount of cap space even if they retain Larry Sanders for a few more years. Moving him sounds like a Clutchfans wet dream.
And why would the Knixies take on Sanders contract - - and blow up nearly half their FA $$$ for the upcoming summer?
Because if it's good for Houston then it must be good for everyone else. Logic isn't used, only what might seem good for us:
Mayo would be a great fit. They've always tried to make him into a ball handling passing point guard. He wouldn't have to next to Harden. His defense is underated as well when engaged. Great shooter. Can create his own shot. Has sixth man experience now. Add Henson and alot of our holes get filled for what shouldn't be much. I'm not a big stats guy but didn't Grantland do a piece about how Henson shows really poor on a lot of advanced statistical metrics?
Who tried to make him a PG? I thought he was always played as a SG. He just was inconsistent so he got benched.
That is a joke right? Everyone's favorite "Prospect" Hassan Whiteside will be 26 at the start of next season FYI. D-Mo will be 25. Goran Dragic will be 29.
Rox organizations may have realized awhile ago that he was the leak. Therefore they have been feeding him bs information for the past couple of years.
With Sanders likely to have a rocky next few months finding his way back on the court, I don't understand why the Bucks would look to trade Henson one of their last few rim protectors. What's the reasoning?
