That Seattle loss is much worse than any 3 of those. Those were brutal for Houston fans, but just looking at the games themselves, Seattle's heartbreak is far more severe. In the Super Bowl, no less.

Well Seattle won the super bowl last year so I don't think the fans or most of the players are lamenting as much as they would be if they had never won before and came this close.

    lol

all my late night mind came up with on short notice.

the 35-3 Oiler meltdown was the greatest choke job ever and to this day it stings. So perhaps that could be the example.

Hopefully McHale doesn't call a play for Joey Doresy in game 7 of the NBA finals

Definitely true. If any of those 3 situations actually happened in the title game, they'd top it.

Still...if I'm a Seattle fan, I'm mortified at what happened tonight, even with the win last year.

just makes me more mad knowing that the seahawks beat the packers in such heartbreaking fashion and then lose to the cheatriots in the same way. at least finish the job if you're going to knock off my team!

Lol how do you think Cowboys fans felt and prior to that how the Lions fans felt?
I think the Seahawks can blame their loss on the Lions. It's as if the Lions placed a curse on each team after they lost to the Cowboys. Curse the team that beat us. If another team beats them then curse them too. If another team beats that team then curse them too, and so on.

    Uh wow, OK.

Your HC and QB spent the postgame covering for you so you decide when you have reporters questioning you to... blame the receiver.

    Alrighty then.

I'm starting to think it probably would have been wise for Seahawks staff to just rush Bevell onto the team bus and back home as opposed to letting him talk to the media and removing any doubt about his lunacy.

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/201...ll-seattle-seahawks-play-call-made-kill-clock

WTF? You had the game clock in mind so you decide to go with a pass play which would (a) result in a td (b) be broken up/incomplete and stop the clock
    (c) The worst case scenario which happened

as opposed to running the ball which would (a) result in a TD (b) result in 3rd down and the clock still running which would have placed more impetus on NE to use a TO.

    Bevell reasoning. SMDH

Lol yeah it was a Carroll play call alright. C'mon now.

I also forgot Bevell was the Vikings O-Coordinator during the Favre years and the NFC title game vs the Saints...when they needed a few years for the potential game winning FG and Favre proceeded to pass and throw an INT.

A bit of a theme for Bevell I guess.

That last play by the Seattle tells me what I already knew about sports and humans in general: even smart, successful people can smart the dumbest mistakes.

If you three downs to gain 1 yard with a running back built like a M-1 tank and you elect to pass. OK....

Seattle can b**** all they want. GB gave the NFC championship game away, and now Seattle knows the feeling.

BEAUTIFUL watching Sherman hold up not one, not two, or three, but FOUR fingers for Super Bowl victories. I guess he was just showing how many Super Bowls Brady has now won.

The thing is Lynch was gashing them. Even if Pats stuff him at the line which was unlikely ya then ya call timeout and maybe setup a pass play, if incomplete clock stops and you still have yet another play. The reaction to Carroll on down to players made this a great SB.

Reading all these quotes from players on the Seahawks defense blasting the move of not giving the ball to Lynch at the one.

They talk about their BAD ass defense, and they had a TEN point lead in the 4th qtr and they're defense blew it. Before you start pointing fingers at other people LOOK IN THE FREAKIN MIRROR!!!!!

Was it 1andgoal or 2nd before the pick off happened? Where is the Brady screaming like a girl gif at?

I keep on thinking if that play had worked people would be talking about how much of a genius Carroll was to catch the Pats by surprise and what a tough and gritty call that was.
