And as you can see, while most of us ridicule her actions, what she did resonates with many on the far right...

Actually I do. Thanks for playing. I've spent quite a bit of time in the recent past in that part of the world. Hell I was just there two weeks ago. In my travels and experiences, most Germans would not be so bold to make that sort of parallel in such a casual way. Perhaps behind closed doors it is different.

Obviously ATW is entitled to his opinion though. I agree with him on many points about how bad radical Islam is. It's obviously terrible. I don't agree with his excessive paranoia and neurotic obsession. But he's going to continue with that regardless.

My statement wasn't towards the actual subject matter of his comment, rather the overlying nature of its comparison.

It's cute that you know all about my "insecurities" though.

You are still not really addressing the substance of the comparison.

    1) Where exactly do you see a major difference between the two fascist ideologies of Nazism and radical Islam? I pointed out several of the many parallels - do you disagree with any of them?

    2) What kind of a paternalistic attempt at stifling discussion is it to insinuate that I, as a German who was born many years after the Nazi regime ended, should have less of a right to make this comparison?

No. Nice attempt to spin that.

I'm glad you "guess" that I am entitled to my opinion. It's interesting that you think you are somehow uniquely "qualified" to be the high authority on these subject matters. Do you think that?

Because while "heypartner" or whoever else may want to say that I come across as condescending, you are the best at it.

Your tirades against Northside Storm and Cometswin among others, to belittle them are well documented. You throw your "credentials" around at every opportunity you can. I believe those are the textbook signs of "insecurity" that are so "obvious" to you.

Then there's this moron with his continuous trolling.

ATW, do you support this post? Are you a fan of this line of thinking? I would think not, since you despise intolerance.

To me, it is clear that this guy's line of thinking is close to fascism. It's not the first time he's made this sort of statement either. He's mentioned before that Muslims should have to have some sort of identification so others can know they are Muslim.

Is that fascist thinking to you, similar to what Nazis wanted?

You're against fascism and Islam. So where is your harangue against downbytheriver?

I don't expect you to be against his ideology since it fits your narrative and agenda. In fact, I've seen you speak in favor of some of his posts in the past. His line of thinking is "not far off" from extremism either.

this is America. the rookie Representative isn't even talking about "visitors," she is talking about American citizens who are Muslims.

those who were born here, who freely practice their religion; she wants a pledge of allegiance from.

    what a shame.

I mentioned that I was never speaking of the substance of the comparison to begin with. I already made that clear. I agree with you on the "fascism is fascism" bit.

It's just comical to me that you have lamented others in the past for making nazi comparisons and now you're doing the same thing yourself.

I also still don't think most Germans would so easily compare anything (not even talking about Islam) to nazism in the casual way that you do. Regardless, there's no attempt to "stifle discussion" here. I have an opinion on your statement. You don't like it. That's all.

    Let the discussion continue.

You severely underestimate the desire of voters in Texas to reject stupidity in their elected officials.

So if you are saying that you were never speaking of the substance of the comparison, then what does that mean?

How is saying the claim is "asinine" not speaking of the substance of the comparison?

Nice attempt at backtracking there, DudeWah.

And if you are indeed not speaking to the substance of the comparison, or actually agreeing with me on the substance of the comparison, then the only logical conclusion is that you are implying that I, as a German, am not allowed to make it anyway. That is paternalistic at best, incredibly arrogant and small-minded at worst.

So true. It's hard to believe that she can even get elected with her lack of regard for the American ideals and principles.

I'm saddened to see posters bickering with one another in this thread instead of making fun of Rep Molly White as we should.

Evangelicals and their blind patriotism for Israel. It's absolutely sickening. The most sickening reason why they support Israel isn't based on some moral principle, but a disgusting belief that all Jews must migrate to Israel for Jesus to come back and end the world. I want to go to this ***** office and punt her Israeli flag at her b**** face and speak in my deep redneck voice : "This is Amurica, not Israel b****". She just screams false patriotism.

i noticed the link to the US dual citizenship site 404'd that you provided (http://www.travel.state.gov). perhaps they have amended it since making that site, as they are prone to do.

Only problem is I don't know any Evangelical Christians who support Israel for that reason. But keep on ranting without any facts to back up your angry rhetoric.

I've never heard of that before either.
