We need to keep Stephen A Smith away from Dwight.

How many good Centers are there in the NBA? Not very many. That's why the Cavs had to give up 2 first round picks to get Timofey Mozgov.

2 first round picks. For Mozgov.

I'm not saying that I want Dorsey to play a lot or anything. But he was supposed to be an end of the bench, 4th or 5th option at Center. And I think he is just fine for that. He is not just fine for a starting center. If Dwight does indeed miss an extended period of time and we go shopping for a Center we will find out how hard a good one is to find.

Smith and Jones themselves could be considered undersized. They are decent to good shot blockers and rebounders for what they are, but our overall rim defense and rebounding will drop drastically.

Can you imagine a frontcourt rotation of D-Mo, Jones and Smith going up against the likes of, say, Gasol and Randolph in the playoffs? Those guys would dominate the boards. Jordan and Griffin? Not much better. Lopez and Aldridge? Still not looking good. Splitter and Duncan? Nope....

I am really hoping it doesn't come to Dwight missing time in the playoffs.

The Mavericks have been thinking that they would be able to get Jermaine O'Neal for weeks now. Maybe we could swoop in and sign him away from them just like we did with Josh Smith?

TMac all over again, if he breaks down our chance at a championship the next few years is near zero.

You know how Mchale seems to keep saying it comes back with "the wear and tear"........it goes back to what I've said about his mechanics. If they weren't corrected enough, and i never found anything confirming they were, then healing the knee and throwing him back out to continue to move poorly would likely just lead to an issue again later. He would just be stuck in a cycle.

One game with a worse roster than we have now. Our success isn't tied to Howard, it's tied to Harden. That said, we have a hole at the 5 that needs to be addressed if Howard is going to be missing.

Damn. Getting a 2nd opinion is usually not a good sign.

or turn it around...should he have gotten a second opinion much sooner, like what we should have done with Yao's damn toe, the first time.

Howard is the best center in the NBA when healthy..... But he hasn't been healthy all year and the Rockets are on pace for 57-58 wins. The depth inside is better than before. Get Howard rested for down the stretch and this off season see what the surgical options are. Also the idea that the days of an all star Howard are jumping the gun.
