lol Wow, that is still a lot of games to play during the regular season. They can rest after they retire.
Don't take the slightest little chance with Harden. Lose two games if needed. If we can't win against two teams built to lose we aren't going very far any way.
We'll see. Hopefully I'm wrong and Harden will be able to play and carry the team for ~100 games (not to mention playing ball this past Summer), but I am skeptical.
One things that I will say is that mchale has said a few times that harden can play basketball for 12 hours a day. I know he's not serious but this guy is a ball player and playing basketball is what he does. I have also heard bev call harden an animal and that he's tough as they come. Harden has that lebron body type that seeks tailor made to dish out punishment not take it. He's the biggest guard in the nba and prob wieghts as much as half the pfs in the nba. Now in 5 years when he's 30 he can rest 15 games a year but not at 25 in his prime on the cusp of an mvp. No matter what some of you say an mvp for harden would be huge for This city and make as a fan and houstonian hope him and watt can both win the mvp and dominate in Houston for years to come.
I don't think he'll have a problem doing that now or next year. It's the years after that that we should be concerned about.
That a superstar can play 82 games and win a title. About 35 guys a year play 82 games. That's a little over 1 per team. Most guys will get dinged up here or there and miss at least a game or two. That doesn't mean there is a correlation between playing 82 games and winning a title. Lots of superstars miss games and don't win a title. Lebron has never played every game in 11 seasons, and yet he only has 2 titles.
I am relived to hear that. I wouldn't mind, if he sat out this game. We can't afford him to be anything, but 100 percent ready.
