As someone who isn't an insider, but someone who stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night, I am offended as well.
As a fake insider, I'm offended. I've put a lot of effort into my joke posts in this thread. Picking what hashtags to use, what sources I don't actually have, etc. It's hard work.
I'm a bit surprised Tobias Harris isn't on the list of the players the Rockets are looking at, great 3 point shooting stretch 4 with massive balls, and an expiring contract
I'm sure this will be read as OMG FAKE INSIDER TROLL but, like u said, Jimmy is from the H and we actually have a mutual friend. APPARENTLY, at the beginning of the season Jimmy said if D Rose goes down with another major knee injury he is headed to the H. So I guess there is a mutual interest. Idk if Bulls would be willing to trade him though, to me it sounds like what we heard earlier with Paul Millsap...why bother trading for a player when you have some confidence at getting him in free agency. Not sure if we will have the cap room though.
Since the return of RW and KD his play has picked up and his value has as well. Is he a franchise player? No, but he has been upset about no getting his extension. He is playing better now because it will be more visible.
Regardless of whatever homecoming we're getting a guy who showed early in the season that he was capable of a 20/10 with two blocks night, without giving up anything. Welcome home TJ
He is restricted and Chicago has already made it known they are going to offfer him a max deal. So, if he signs an offer sheet, they're going to match. The magic with trading for him (and dumping Ariza's deal in the process) is you can create a ton of cap space to work with this summer while having him on a relatively paltry $5 million cap hold that can be reduced even further once the qualifying offer is removed. If we can move out Ariza (and the Pels pick, and other contracts) for Butler and expirings then not only can we re-sign Butler to a max deal but we can also create enough cap space to sign another player to a max or close to max deal. That could be huge. Think about it. Goran Harden Butler Dwight DMo or Llull (or Canaan or some other PG like Mo Williams signed at the room MLE) Harden Butler Gasol Dwight or Llull (or Canaan or some other PG like Mo Williams signed at the room MLE) Harden Butler Dwight LaMarcus or Llull (or Canaan or some other PG like Mo Williams signed at the room MLE) Harden Butler Dwight Love This COULD possibly happen IF Jimmy figures out he wants to leave Chicago. Once again, it bears watching.
Jimmy Butler's cap hold cannot be reduced by pulling his qualifying offer. The "free agent cap hold" amount ($5.022 million) is higher than the qualifying offer amount ($4.434 million). It'll be $5.022 million, regardless.
