Black Hawk Down is still the best war movie of all time.

Well, fine, that's your opinion... and you might have a reason, but... this is a MOVIE "based" on a book... nothing says it's "just as it happened."
If you want the straight-up story, then watch a documentary, not a Hollywood movie. :p

They have to add junk like that so you can be interested enough. It's a movie on its own whether there's a book on it or no book.

I've read "Lone Survivor". I haven't read "American Sniper". I've also seen both films.

Lone Survivor was one of the top 5 books I've ever read, and I've actually had the honor to meet Marcus Luttrell. So you can imagine how much I was looking forward to the film. Unfortunately, it was underwhelming as a film which was disappointing.

I haven't read American Sniper. I enjoyed the movie (if enjoyed is the proper term), but suspect if I read the book it will also make the movie pale in comparison.

I also read the book "Unbroken". Another absolutely amazing book and well worth the read. But the film "Unbroken" was also somewhat underwhelming.

What I've come to understand is that these kinds of stories are simply "too big" to adequately portray in a 2 hour movie. Its a damn shame that they aren't made into mini-series instead of films. They all are very deserving of being told the right way.

I saw that American Sniper is on the Showbox App, I plan on watching it tonight.

That being said, Lone Survivor is one of, if not my favorite War Movie.

Heard of the HBO series, but never saw the movie. What about it? I think that's a documentary and it's closer to the real thing. Isn't it? Or is it a "Hollywood movie"?
