I think bev is going to ultimately be traded. We will upgrade or get a young under recognized player like mawrey always seems to do. It seems more likely that bev gets traded than stays. But idk his value and if he could help land a lawson/dragic/bledsoe type player On top of our other assetts.

How would anyone ever prove anything? I'm certain these things happen all the time.

lol that's how desperate I feel about upgrading this roster!!! IMO there's no better year to go all out and do whatever it takes, give up whatever future value to bump our roster up a notch. We have to count McHale as practically a negative, so we need to have the most talented roster in the West.

    I like it.

Look at Morey's transaction history and its not hard to fathom. Of course this type of deals ALWAYS pisses off the coach (ticked off Adelman a number of times), but in the end it always helped out the team.

I look at the Alston for Lowry deal as a reference point to start. I think in this case, Morey actually would want to try and keep Beverley as a backup (I certainly would), but in situations like this sometimes Morey has to pull the comfort blanket away from the coach to make any progress.

I dunno though.. is there another Lowry out there that is buried on another teams bench? I surely don't see it right now.

Per Beverley's value: I don't really see him as being a huge get in a big name (Lawson/Dragic) type of deal, but as a backup to a contender I could see teams really pursuing him to get some toughness and defense on the perimeter. Strangely enough, Dallas could really use him, but can't see that happening. A deal like that might be your best bet, but not sure if he has much value outside of a team that is looking to win now, and needs just a little defense at the guard spots.

If he were on any team other than OKC and in a similar situation, I would say he's our likeliest target. As it is, I don't see Presti trading him to us.

You can only amnesty one player during the first five years of the new CBA and the Nets already used it on Travis Outlaw.

They either cut, trade or hang on to him, there is no other option for the Nets.

and ftr, I agree that no way in hell does Morey take on the often injured and WAY overpaid Deron Williams, that would be the least Morey-ish move available.

We wouldn't be trading for him as a starter though, but as a 6th man off the bench. I personally hate the idea of having Jackson play next to Harden.

Would you have liked the idea of Jet playing heavy minutes at 38 next to Harden, prior to this season?

    Please no to Jackson.

The guy has an ego. The guy can be a chucker. The guy wants to get paid. The guy thinks he is much better than he actually is.

I do not want a 30% 3 point shooter next to Harden. Irrespective of how much you stagger their minutes, Harden and Jackson will see the court a lot of time together and Harden will be the primary ball handler while RJ plays off the ball and spots up for 3. I don't think this team can afford to have such a bad 3 point shooter hogging minutes while also carrying Ariza. Moreso considering the 3 ball dominant offense we run.

I'm looking at the schedules of OKC, Phoenix and New Orleans between now and the trade deadline, obviously because our best chance of getting Dragic is a OKC surge and Phoenix slump.

These 6 upcoming games that Phoenix has against playoff teams are going to be key. If they can get 1 or 2 of them, they'll likely still be the 8th seed going at the trade deadline.

It's going to be tight, man.

Oh I see. For some reason I thought teams could have one amnesty contract at a time, so once outlaw came off the books they'd be able to use it again. But I obviously just made that up in my head.

Regarding Deron and Morey: Deron's value doesn't match his contract, it limits the Rockets flexibility going forward, and he's not a tradeable asset (maybe until it's expiring). Deron just doesn't match his style. Unless Morey is convinced that Deron has something that I can't imagine that will make us a contender for the next few years.

I like that idea a lot better than a poor shooting, egotistical chucker, looking for his next big payday.

The Jackson situation has the same feel as the Lowery deal. Lowry had a chip on his shoulder and was not in a great situation with the Grizzlies when they drafted Conley. He always played like he had something to prove. I could see stability calming Jackson a bit.

    Could be George Hill?

He was drafted by San Antonio Spurs (Texas) and could be 'homecoming' to Texas where his NBA career started.

Codman refered injuries. Paul George's injury crashed Pacers and everybody became unhappy in Indiana 'cause they changed for a contender to a lottery team.

It's just a dark horse, but makes a little sense.

The thing with George Hill is, is that he doesn't really solve the PG issues the Rockets are having in terms of creating his own shot and/or creating shots for others. He is also on the books for 2 more seasons at 8M per. He is better defensively than Jason Terry but other than that? eh. Rockets have to be thinking bigger here.

I would like to have a defensive PG also but with Ariza here and can't create his own offense, we need a PG that can create off dribble. Bring P. Bev from bench. Defenses will shut down Harden in Playoffs and it will come down on secondary offense creator. Parsons did good job of creating and we are missing that right now with both P. Bev and Ariza on the floor at the same time.

The Reggie Jackson scenario looks a lot like the Eric Bledsoe situation with the Clippers where Bledsoe was about to go into RFA and the Clips knew they could not keep him so they traded him.
