Dwight is injured "again". TJones coming back = We're getting over. Dwight recruited JSmith here to Houston. Jeremy Lin recently has been reported as wanting out of LA (Homecoming). However Josh Smith had no previous links to Houston, and Codman is using JSmith as his reference of a homecoming. Deron Williams is unhappy where he is, him and Dwight are "bros" and I'm sure both would be happy if they got to play together.
I'd be happy to have him if he didn't have that contract. It will be lol-worthy though if after all these years Dwight finally ends up on a team with his boys Deron and Josh Smith when that's what he wanted in New Jersey.
I'm pretty sure that's true. Thanks be to God. Can't help but wonder if DM hopes Deron (from Dallas) is bought out. An actual trade would be a mega-depletion of our depth (and I'd insist on Miles Plumlee in the deal). Goran does seem the unhappy camper, right? Can't be Jimmy Butler. Can't be Bosh.
i'm all for getting deron here. i think the training stuff will do good work with him, and i think he'll play rejuvenated next to harden.. that ridiculous contract though scares the crap outta me...
Don't we have to give up an insane amount of guys to take on Deron's contract? Wouldn't it be fantastic if the Nets waived Deron, a la the Josh Smith situation? I wonder if someone would grab him off waivers.
Nobody would take him off of waivers and I really doubt the Nets are going to waive him. What the Pistons did was historic. Players with that much money owed do not get waived. Unlike Smith, Deron isn't actually playing like an absolute cancer either and there's no burning desire to just give his minutes to other up and coming players at the same position. The only reason the Nets want to get rid of him is to save money. Cutting him doesn't save them his money.
Agreed. Save money and go in a different direction. He is not the player he was in Utah but he would be getting 30 minutes a game with us and would fill 75% of what we want on the perimeter.
I just can't think of a scenario where Morey trades for Deron. That would be one of the least morey-ish moves possible. I could see the nets amnestying him next year.
Just like with Detroit and Josh Smith, the Rockets will at least have conversations about a player on a bad contract. But if the Rockets werent able to find a way to ease the financial burden of Josh Smiths contract, what on earth makes one think they'd pony up for Deron who is on a substantial worse contract with major health problems. It doesn't hurt Morey to talk to the Nets about DWill just in case something opens up in the future but if the Rockets weren't willing to part with Lin and Asik for DWill, they sure as hell won't be willing to part with what they have to now to take him and back and deal with the risk. Still the door is open if somehow he gets bought out in the future or whatever to say "we tried back then". If Morey really wanted him at the cost and risk he comes at now, he would have been a Rocket along time ago. Also Cyberx didn't "call it" with the trade. He only reported Morey had talked to the Nets about him. I think Cyberx is smart enough to not set up that unrealistic expectation. He doesnt seem interested in making bets like the fake insiders do(Ex: KingDrew) where they say something WILL happen by x date just to gamble with reputation at the hope he will be right. He's pretty good at just saying what he hears and letting you interprate as you will.
Anyone else notice he capitalized W, D, and H? Westbrook, Durant, Harden? Is there some kind of rift forming between Westbrook and Durant that would cause Durant to come home (to Texas)?? Haha, just grasping at straws here......
