These "pretty good role players" need to play better. Harden has been asked to do too much.

When you start watching his strengths and the things he does off the ball with more than 3 mins worth of play. Did you see the way he stayed in front of that guard starting from the three point line? NO big man we have has the lateral movement and the length that he has. Give em a break man! Its all about the finished product. He will never get better unless he gets these minutes

No one on that team is capable of leading a comeback.

Watch Smith shoot free throw and Ariza shoot threes right now. So many bricks, I could build a house.

I've actually liked what I've seen from Capela - granted it's against another D League team though.

He has very good feet on defense. A couple of times he was more than competent at taking the smaller guard off the P'n'R.

That's what this Rockets team needs from the C.

His offensive ineptitude can 100% be put down to his nerves. The more steady minutes he gets and the familiarity he builds with this team - will help change those rushed layups into points.

Going back to the D League doesn't help Capela since he's not playing against people his own size.

I REALLY want Dwight to sit out at least 5 games so Cap gets those minutes, it's only going to work wonders in the future.

To those people saying Capela is pathetic....... You've got to realise big men take a long time to come into their own. At least Cap is showing at worst - good defensive instinct right now - which will only get better in the long run.

I'm not worried tinman. I know we are going to win this game. Should be a blowout.

But then again, we all know we have a way of letting teams creep their way back in the game.

The other thing to consider is that Capela is a rookie. Refs don't normally give first year players much respect on D. The fact that he's not only able to stay in front of these Laker players, but he also isn't getting whistled for fouls tells you how legit his defense is.

yup. took dmo 3 years. if he didn't crack the rotation this year he would've been considered a bust.

capela is not an nba player this year. next year if he adds some strength and learns to box out he will be an nba player... maybe a 3rd string center.

in his 3rd year if he adds even more strength and learns defensive positioning he could be a backup center and won't be considered a bust.

believe it or not, that summer will be when we have to decide to resign dwight or not. if capela proves to be an effective defensive center, capable of replacing dwight's defense (to a degree) and rim protection, he might be the better option in 2017.

I'm honestly not concerned about Capela's offense. He's young, but I think the main problem tonight is just nerves.

I was Dwight Howard's biggest advocates when we first signed him, and all of last season. AND I constantly was on his side after our abysmal playoff performance.

But if you think this year's Dwight Howard is the same as last years - then you haven't watched enough games.

Didn't Kobe only have 26 at halftime in that game? Harden is at 20..

Do-able against this "team" but nah. hahaha The Lakers were losing that game too when Kobe had to score
