Maybe Lin got benched for asking Byron if they are in full tank mode.

Truth is the Lin fans deserve this, each and every one of them. Watching these obnoxious deplorable groupies meltdown all over the interwebs is hilarious. More so after all the nasty things they had to say about the Rockets and our personnel. Pathetic, lieing, treacherous, despicable human beings. Lowest form of any sports fan.

Just out of curiosity, does Lin have trade value now? If he is packaged with say 3 million cash, could he net an early second rounder. I think so. He would be appealing to low income teams with multiple picks.

I realize a team like Minnesota wouldn't want to give up their 2nd rounder, but if they had the rights to a team like Milwaukee or Miami's 2nd rounder, he would be a good draw.

Lakers are in full tank now and he i think he could be flipped for a mid 2nd rounder easily.

lol wow, Lin is getting abused, and taking it up the ass without saying anything, didn't think he would actually be DNP-CD. He's not a very good player, but he's better than some of the trash on the Lakers.

    LOL!

    Lin fans....delusional as always.

If you put the Lakers players up for sale right now (even disregarding their current contract), Lin would be one of the last ones picked by any team.

A PG that does not know how to play PG in a league full of PGs.

lol at 'delusional lin fans'. Anyone with an average IQ or above knows that Lin is one of the best players in the team. But Zboy I don't blame you since you seem to be the kind of individual that is filled with hate inside you because you never accomplished anything outside of your mom's basement. Emo kids these days lmao

Grass always looks greener from the other side. They are finally realizing that Lin was much better off in Houston than he will ever be in Fakerland. They accused Harden of being a ball hog and said he would shine in LA. Really? WTF is Kobe then? A good Samaritan? He is like the epitome of selfish ball chucker. Not enough minutes in Houston? Guy played 30 minutes on a contender and now he hardly plays. Front office racist? Dude, we are one of the most ethnically diverse teams in the NBA and the first team in NBA history to draft an Asian and Nigerian with the first picks. Lin probably goes to sleep every night wishing he gets traded back to Houston.

Lin is who he is; a mediocre PG. He is a ball dominant PG that relies on the PnR where he uses his quick acceleration to break free. Problem is, he will never be good enough to be the primary or even secondary option on even a good team. Waiting for Linsanity to happen is nigh impossible at this point. The best his fans should hope so going forth is that he can sign for $2-3M on a team that is willing to utilize him to his specific strengths.

Isn't it possible that Byron just told Lin that he actually likes him, he likes what he brings to the table, but the team is trying to tank right now and put themselves in a better position for next season, so we'll make a hush-hush under the table deal where we agree to resign you for a decent salary for your next contract, but you'll just sit on the bench this season while we tank for a better draft pick?

Looks like Scott is just trying to retain his position as head coach. If he played Lin too much, Kobe might get mad and get him fired. Now that Kobe is out for the season... yeah his playing time won't likely change. He should have stayed in NY, at least he's getting paid still. Regardless if he's playing or not. He's still getting an upwards of 8+ million bucks. Someone will sign him to a new contract next year, it's just a matter of who.

Given the way Byron craps all over Lin in the media, I highly doubt this. Plus, they were losing just fine w/ Lin playing.

But why take any chances? Don't they lose next year's draft pick if it falls out of the top 5? Lin might be the Lakers best player right now. Call me a LOF, but it seems like Lin plays better the more he has the ball in his hands, and, with Kobe out for the season, Lin looked primed to make a bigger positive impact on the team than he has had the opportunity to all season.

At this point, the Lakers are pretty much free to do whatever they want and still avoid criticism-- it isn't like they are trying to win anything this year and most of the players on the team are on expiring contracts and will not return. And those who are not on expiring contracts are not really likely to be future key pieces anyway. The one guy with future potential was Randle and he's been gone all year. Lin, Davis, Hill, Boozer, Clarkson, Swaggy, Johnson, whatever. They are all expendable.

There is just nothing to gain or lose either way. Their season is just completely pointless.

In the NBA, some teams fight for playoff spots and at least a slim chance to fight for the title. Other teams know they will lose, but at least they got young guys (like MIN does with Wiggins) to develop for the future. The Lakers have neither the present to fight for or the future to develop.

I can see them just cutting/trading a bunch of guys pretty soon.
