What if we did this and picked up Ray Allen, while the Nuggets waive terry and we sign him again this happens so many times in NBA where a team trades and player and comes back before that march 15 deadline.

Rockets out: Terry, Kpaps, TJones and NOP Pick.
    Rockets In: Ty Lawson
    Nuggets Out: Ty Lawson
Nuggets In: Terry Kpaps, TJones and a 1st rounder from NOLA

    Rockets Depth Chart Post Trade:
    C Howard, Dorsey
    PF Motiejunas, Smith, Capela
    SF Ariza, Brewer
SG Harden, Ray Allen, Schved, Nick Johnson
PG Lawson, Beverley Canaan maybe a Terry return after waivers
makes 15 if we dont need terry we can pick up another big for playoffs

"Under the 2011 CBA, a player acquired in a trade and waived by his new team cannot re-sign with his original team until one year after the trade or July 1 after the expiration of his contract, whichever is sooner"

Jason Terry isn't going to make or break the deal you proposed. The Nuggets would probably prefer younger talent with promise instead, like Nick Johnson, Capela. I get that Terry's contract is why you included him... but I suspect DM could find a third team to facilitate and make a deal work salary cap wise. That said, I'm not sure why the Nuggets would trade Lawson for a TJones that's been injured all year and a late lotto draft pick that is super hit or miss...

I think the Nuggest and Hornets as facilitators makes sense, though.

If we were to trade Terry & Denver waived him , we could not resign him.

League rules prohibit resigning a traded player for one year.

Teams that could facilitate a trade to get Dragic?
The Suns need help at the 2/3, and could get better in the frontcourt. Haha, so basically everywhere but the 1 they have room to improve. Consider the Suns also have a 1st round pick due from the Lakers (I think top 5 protected this year, top 3 next year). So if the Rockets are parting with TJones and NOP pick as key assets, the third teams could be:

Denver: Lawson, Afflalo. Lawson wouldn't balance out the roster, but would at least lock up that 3 headed PG tandem that makes them successful, with only 1 getting the max. And Denver is perhaps at a point where they are looking at moves.

Charlotte: Stephenson. Have to imagine Charlotte would be happy to trade him. Would be a risky get for the Suns, but to the extent he worked in a more disciplined system in Indiana, he might also work in Hornacek's system.

Miami: Long-shot, but would they consider moving Deng? he's given them what he gave Chicago. hasn't over or underperformed. But the team is 6 games under .500 in the East. In the playoffs, sure, but is Riley really looking for 1st round exits? Riley strikes me as a guy that might be interested in draft picks and young talent perhaps?

Lakers: Lakers would probably like Dragic themselves, but might also be a scenario where they might be willing to part with Nick Young for effectively draft picks and young talent back.

Minnesota: Kevin Martin would give the Suns a true SG, and he played well this year before getting injured. He's supposedly about ready to come back. The health issue would be a concern for the Suns, but he'd be a solid solid fit otherwise.

Pelicans: The farther they fall away from the 8 seed, the more likely they are to make a move. Alex Len has improved, but the Suns could still benefit from a guy like Asik. And then there's Eric Gordon who is probably available. In an ironic twist, some kind of deal where Asik goes to the Suns, Dragic goes to the Rockets, and the NOP pick ends up back with New Orleans plus filler to make it work isn't that far fetched. New Orleans saying "our bad, didn't work as well as we wanted"

Nets: Would the Suns like Brook Lopez? Perhaps, but not sure the salaries work...

I like it. Denver gets a starting PF in Jones and big potential center in Capela, in addition to a lottery pick. We get the pg that we need and somebody to relieve Harden. Who Cares About Minny. Lol.

No one benefits from this except Houston. Denver already have a starting power forward in Faried.

    And?

Now they can move him or Jones with the Pelicans pick to move up in the draft.

Not to mention they save millions of dollars.

And they will improve their own draft position.

    It absolutely benefits them.

We should target brandon jennings or brandon knight if we cant get dragic/lawson. Combined with a stretch 4 like teletovic would likely cost nothing of great significaance.

    K.pap/shved/capella/ny2nd for jennings(knight)/teletovic. Brooklyn gets capella/k.pap and milwaukee(detroit) gets shved/ny2nd

Probably need spare pieces but thats a good basis for a package.

I would imagine that Brandon Knight is highly valued in Milwaukee. They are a middle of the pack play off team and growing each year. He is their best player, and is only 23. I doubt Shved/NOP pick/ NY2nd would even get it done.
