All those shots???lol he was 2 for 8,how many players start out slow then get in a rhythm,it's not like we go to him consistently or run any plays for him
And one of those 8 was an obvious goaltend that wasn't called. Take that away and it's still not good, but the post opportunities were still too few and far between.
We saw 2 plays in the 3rd quarter where dmo sealed him down low and got the ball. Automatic fouls on Green. If they had done that in the first quarter Green would have been on the bench. Different game. What is asinine is thinking we're better off with Josh Smith operating on anybody much less on Draymond Green. You've got to be kidding me. Absolutely ridiculous.
D Mo has gone cold, there are only so many times you can spin before the other team doubles him, he has very little other offensive moves
WTF? he has been shooting better than 50% in more than 10 games in a row, he had a couple blocked last night that hurt his %. DD
Josh Smith set up plays (lobs) for Howard when he was on the court against Green. When Howard and Motie were on together, they got shut down because neither can create for the other effectively, and neither can post up their man (Bogut and Green are juggernaughts defensively). It is asinine to call someone asinine without investigating their claim. It is also asinine to post the word asinine on a message board, but I started it soooo... It is also asinine to suggest that just because Motie sealed his man, he would draw a foul. Green can (and often does) recover, and knows how to log heavy minutes without fouling - he gave away cheap fouls when up 20 and chanced his arm on a reach. No need to do that all game long.
I don't agree with basketballholic. But DMo passes to Dwight too. The difference is, DMo rarely holds the ball long enough to "create" offense. That's just not his style. And it is not true that DMo cannot post up his man. He shot 17-35 almost 50% averaging 16 points in the first 3 games against Green.
Check the vantage stats on josh smith as a passer. He is excellent in that regard (so he is good at something!!) DMo was twice posted on Green in the first Q and looked horrid. However i would rather see that than Dwight on Bogut!!!! I see a more favourable matchup with Motie schooling their backup bigs while Harden rests, and Smith as the 4 option to take Green away from the hoop and open up the lobs to Dwight. Just seems to make more sense in that matchup imho
it didnt look horrid even if it did dmo is the best ofense we have...much better than dwight posting and ariza and josh smith chucking 3s and 'playmaking'... dmo just missed a couple of shots.. no wonder since he only gets a cuople opportunities for postups a game and his teammates stop feeding him as soon as he misses one... he should be given opportunities like 1 ariza 2 dwight 3 smith chuck as many as you want and get fed the ball regardless if you hit or miss.... then you will see the results... its absurd to expect anything from him without ingame practice... for god sake ariza horrid shooting slump lasted 20-30 games and we stil went to him... game in game out and she shot as much as kobe bryant shot in LA...laying brick after brick after brick... and you stop going to ultra eficient DMO just because he missed a cuople of gimmes... gimme a break...
he can do it to anybody in the league... and it should be our go to move even before harden...mc hale and rockets are geting away with murder... they are curbing dmos devopement in order to extend him for pennies....
dmo can not have a bad game cause he plays inteligently and within himself...he may miss sometimes a cuople of shots but no player ever hit all of his shots... i blame mc hale h for not trusting him more than the brick trio Ariza Dwight and Smith if dmo misses a couple of shots its not call a bad game ... he just took good shots and missed...because dmo knows what hes doing and thats how you play basketball but when dwight is posting up and jsmoove is bricking and turnover-making, when ariza is playmaking and chucking 3s over the hands of defenders thats what i call a bad game ... and when coach countinue to play them this way and allow them to play this uninteligent basketball style instead of feeding the ball to one player beside harden who knows how to play thats what i call bad coaching...
yes rusty...5 fgas every once in a while is nothing for a begginer...he has all that talent and all you get him is 5 every once in a while....he should be getting 20 a game...every single game... because hes talented.. hes not dwight the robot howard...hes fluid hes an artist... i see you have no arguments just personal atacks on me...you are jelous because i am more intelligent than you...i would like to see how harden drives would look if he only get to drived 5 times every once in a while...
you have no argumetns against my superior intelect... so you are acting like i said something weird...answer the question: if harden was allowed to drive only 2 a game would he be losing his skills? of course he would...so why acting like I said something weird and stupid?
Let DMo grow from being the focus of the defense. He needs to practise the counters in actual play. DMo makes less mistakes than Dwight Howard and Josh Smith. He shows more poise and discipline out there than the two older guys. DMo has more playing years than Dwight or Josh going forward. DMo should be the one playing starters minutes.
you are puting a lot of things in my mouth KlutchGirl.... where did I say dmo can do no wrong? where did i accused players of jealousy? hallucinating much...you take some of my speculations/theories seriously and putting it in my mouth as if I claimed them to be 100% truth... And I am not a lithuanian in no way... just a lover of inteligent basketball... who wouldnt be wondering that such a talented kid with a high bbqi is denied opportunity and instead given to the turnover machines smith and dwight who play no inteligent basketball...so either there is a 1 conspiracy or 2. the mchale plus morey is dumb or 3. rockets are circus concerned not with winning but just a circus like lakers playing kobe because he brings them tickets and tv rights
Well to be honest your post do give a vibe that Dmo can d no wrong. So I understand her post. It is very frustrating that we keep going to Howard even tough we have a much better post player in Dmo. And if he gets double teamed he will give a good pass (he is a very willing and pretty good passer). I agree that last game was not one of his better games. Green forced him a bit to far away from his comfort zone (it did remind me a lot of how Hayes was able to guard much bigger players). But if we would involve Dmo a bit more he would produce, I am sure (ofcourse not every game, since every player has bad games). What I really do not understand is why put Dmo in the game on green and not go to hium on offense. It is clear that Green is difficult for Dmo to guard, so why not use him on offense where he can do damage. If you do not use him on offense why not change the rotation and put Smith on green most of the time, and let Dmo do his work against a second unit. But I would prefer for them to use him more. The following things are getting frustrating: 1: The lack of adjustments ingame by the coahcing staff 2: Lack of effort by Howard (more in the team have this, but with Howard it is so obvious) 3: Lack of brain and selfcontrol by smith (I really get annoyed everytime he takes a long 2 or 3 especially when we lose momentum as a result of that). I love this team. But it is clear that not the entire team is on the same page. I think we are having the same problems we had last year, some players are to focussed on themselve and not the team. We need a strong coach to get everybody on the same page. I had hoped Mchale would be that guy but I really am starting to worry that he is not capable. Why in the world when we are not hitting our shots do we either take more 3s or go to Howard. We should use Dmo in those instances. I really think that Dmo (when used as our second scorer) can be a very good player. Ofcourse he has a lot to learn, but he just plays smart and his post moves are a work of art. He is by far my favorite Rockets player.
I can tell you this much if Terrence Jones would have scored just 4pts and grabbed 3 boards in 25 minutes with the team losing, their are several posters in here who would have drank his blood. The LEGEND OF DMO grows by the day. LOL.
