We don't need a better starting PG. We have a great one called James Harden. We need Bev to get back to where he was defensively before his injuries OR get a better defensive guard to play next to Harden.
I think the problem is more that we need a 2nd star to go with Harden. Howard at one time was that guy, but through injury or whatever may be the case, he isn't that guy anymore. We can hope for a return of that guy, but nothing is guaranteed.

I definitely agree with this, which is why I have been maintaining that we need that 2nd playmaker A LOT MORE than we need a new starting player at the PG position and that this new playmaker does not have to be a PG. Posters need to broader their thinking and realize that there are other positions outside of a PG that can serve this role. There is a reason that Morey keeps pursuing that extra star player, because we DO need that type of player. Whether or not he is a PG though is irrelevant.
That's true, he doesn't have to be a PG, but PG is by far the weakest spot on the team so it would make sense to find a 2nd playmaker that was a PG if that could be done. For example, you probably aren't going to be able to bench Ariza or Dwight without consequences in the locker room so the 3 and 5 are out and there isn't a better 4 available than DMo so that's pretty much out and there isn't a better 2 in the NBA than Harden so that's out. If you were talking about a bench playmaker then that would open up a lot more options.
Interesting name that may interest Phoenix as we try to pry out Dragic is Al Jefferson. He seems to be on the way out in Charlotte. Phoenix won't want to tank and he would help give them some depth at both PF and C.
