Mom never worked, and still doesn't, unless you count the 3 or 4 months at Crosstimbers Appliances 15 or so years ago. She just mooched off of whoever she could, and lived off the child support until I was 18. Dad's been with the same electric company forever, but still isn't paid a lot. I make more than both, although I believe my dad should be making more.

U mad or something? I wasn't calling you out, bro. I only quoted your post to try and directly answer the question. Chillax.

Many people I know don't exactly help their parents out when they have the means to do so, and it always baffles me.

    Both parents graduated at SFA.

Both combined income is around 120K(Teacher, Retired Pensioned State Trooper)

I am in Real-Estate and also currently running a "Team National" account.

The Team National thing was made just to make savings on auto and my phone bill originally as well as for my parents as I get to put my family on the account. It's savings on Furniture is absolutely absurd as me and the Fiance went furniture shopping and got 6k furniture for 2,300$!

Which running the numbers it will pay for itself(2000$ lifetime membership) in two years off the mortgage, auto and phone savings alone. The shocking thing about it, is that I have gotten about 20 friends to do it, and my first year on it, it has also brought me almost 40k in side revenue just by friends asking friends to join. Utterly awesome surprise as I didn't expect it to get me anything. The cool part about it is that is looks like its turning in to residual income for the long term.

My ex gf's dad worked as a big wig for Guarranty Bank(Now bought out) at one point and always talked about how multiple incomes were key to being wealthy. Trying to do that now at 25 is fun.

Yes-I am about equivalent with them at this point.

I make much more than my mom, dad, and grandma combined. I definitely help them out. Not how I wish I could but I do the best I can.

I am a grown man, I sure as hell am not going to borrow money from my parents.

I do have a blind account, that my wife and father do not know about, which funnels enough money every week to pay all her bills and provides her enough to live comfortably. She is not terribly old but was hurt in an accident 5 years ago and worked hard her whole life.

No, my wife really wouldn't care enough to know.... she supports my decision to help my mother and her aunt, she just does not care how I go about it and how much I provide as long as she gets what she and my son want.

My dad? He would care..... no shame, would want half of it, eventhough he is self sufficient.

Unless they chose a field that is in high demand. It used to be that if you had a degree in literally anything, you could look forward to getting a decent job, even if it was far removed from your major. Not any longer. So many young people are going to college that just having a degree doesn't make you stand out. What the degree is in matters a heck of a lot more.

I dunno man, I kind of read your post the same way. I'm Asian, and when I read your post, it insinuated that Asians are the only ones that do that.

Oh and it might be a wash. My wife and I make about the same as my parents I think. I don't get into my parents' salaries. They just constantly tell me, if you make that much you should have a lot saved up...should.
