So you're telling me when Jones gets back, we will EVENTUALLY get to the starting line up of Bev Harden Ariza Jones Dwight and bench of Canaan? Terry Brewer Smith Dmo and still have people sit on the bench named K pap Big Dick Nick Clint Cap Dorsey Alexey Shved By Mahmoud! I think we've got it!
I'd like Jones to come off the bench and have one goal and that's to score and be a spark plug and run the floor.
I have a hard time imagining TJones gets his starting spot back. DMo has proven he is more than capable of handling the spot. Anyone who points to his averages for 5 games is in denial. T Jones will not be starting on this team, unless DMo is traded.
Team 1 = good enough to be West contender Team 2 = good enough to be East contender Team 3 = good enough to be D-league all-stars?
It is going to be weird watching Jones and Smith on the floor together. Jones runs the floor really well but both have similar skills and both look like they are going in slo mo sometimes. Jones takes care of the ball more and runs the floor better but Smith plays better defense and is a better interior and perimeter passer. Hopefully Jones doesn't try to one up Josh too much...
I know some people pretend to be doctors but anyone with medical knowledge that can explain the lasting effects of a nerve issue like this. Has it regenerated to where it should cause any lasting problems except to strengthen the surrounding muscles or is there a chance of a "relapse" with a nerve injury. I suspect not since that wouldn't make sense. Also, Jones sounds like it is a matter of time with no chance of a relapse. Just has to get into game shape, etc.
I see him working on his threes in the video though. If jones can come back dropping thress on a good avg. DMo will probably be traded cause I think we kind of want a stretch 4
DMo can be a stretch four if needed (shot around 36% from three over the last 30 games). He can also be a beast in the post if needed. Also a good defender. DMo isn't getting traded, unless we get a STAR in return.
I hope not. I think we still have enough assets to trade for our future PG without including a PF. But if Jones comes back and is able to get back to form, it does present a problem because then it will be more feasible for DMo to back up Howard and Jones to start. Howard/Jones then DMo/Smith works better than Howard/DMo then Jones/Smith; even if DMo is deserving to start with his improvements.
I don't think we'll see a trade involving a PF because Jones has absolutely no trade value right now, neither does Smith, and DMo has far too much trade value to be included in a deal for any player that's actually on the market. I think Jones will come back eventually and help our depth and give us the option of benching Smith when he plays poorly along with giving us the option of going small at the PF all game long if the matchup calls for it.
I don't see Jones starting for us anymore this season, but if he can get back to the level he was at (doubtful) then it's worth a look. I want to have one of DMo or Howard on the court at all times, earlier DMo wasn't nearly as good next to Howard, but now he is getting the hang of playing with him in the starting lineup, McHale has some tough decisions to make.
"After wondering if his career was over." That sounds scary happy to hear TJ is getting close to coming back.
I could see jones starting again when he knocks off the rust. We simply haven't beaten any of the better competition with DMo in the starting lineup, besides Memphis.
