I'll hate on McHale all day long...coaching is clearly a problem, but doesn't he have like 19 assistant coaches? Isn't pinning it all one one guy a bit over the top? McHale is supposed to be "the leader of men" and we're all hating on him for not making adjustments, not calling plays, etc..isn't that what all the other dudes are for?
while we're at it can we get better training staff? i'm tired of players leaving the rockets and suddenly becoming amazing shooters, and if they come back they go back to sucking.

I actually find it ironic. I mean if you really want to see the Rockets win and advance, wouldn't you want to see them have the best person possible as a HC. It just boggles my mind how excuses are made for this guy as a coach, and he makes them too - "they didn't play with enough energy" "not enough effort". It's like the Schaub situation all over again. Keeping someone in a pivotal position in your organization and even rewarding him (contract extension), when he is not helping the organization (IMO) advance.
While I like Mchale as a personality. do have some problems with him as our coach. 1: Last year in the play offs it was clear he was outcoached, and especially that last play was terrible (how can 2 players switch their assignment at the last minute?) 2: In many games he just does not make good in game adaptations. 3: I do not like his small ball (like when we had Paterson playing with 4 smaller guys). I do not like the downsizing. Play your big men, play inside out and let the other team adapt to that. 4: I also think he doesn't use Dmo enough. I think he needs more touches in the post, and not with th epick and roll. Overal a mediocre coach with a good personality. But I want better for my team. If we do not advance past the first round, and he continues to make questionable calls I want a new coach.
McFail is just riding off the success of Harden right now. Chump doesn't know what to do when Harden can't get it going.
