I really like old Berlin as well. Terri Nunn has sold her soul or something to look that good at age 50+.

Absolutely. First, they came up with probably the best marketing scheme of all time. You're a typical kid, and you see a group in concert that shoots flames out, spits blood, etc? Are you ****ing kidding me? What kid wouldn't be into that? Then, you get into their music- so, no matter how much one hates Kiss, you'd have to agree that at least Rock and Roll All Night, Detroit Rock City, Shout it Out Loud, Strutter, Deuce, and Hard Luck Woman have appeal to them. Sure, Gene Simmons couldn't sing- but then again, Lou Reed has the absolute worst range of any singer in the history of music- I mean, no one comes close to him- and look at how much his music and Velvet Underground's is revered.

Plus, if you listen to a CD like Destroyer, you have about 75% of those songs that are decent hard rock songs. And Paul Stanley is a good singer, no doubt about that, as well as Ace Frehley being a very good guitarist.

So, if you can string together half a dozen hits, and become a marketing phenomenon like they did, how could you not expect a group like that to hit it big?

    1. You've never seen him live.

    2. You may not personally like this song, but it's certainly understandable why something like this would be very popular:

Umm, thanks for the ... I'm not really sure?

Not all his lyrics are terrible. Some are pretentious, for sure. But at the very least, you're not having to listen to stuff, "Time will tell if we stand the test of time." Besides, The Doors' appeal to true rock fans goes way beyond those Morrison fanatics. I know plenty of Doors fans for whom it's all about the music. Their reputation being built on Morrison is the same as those who worship Elvis for being Elvis and couldn't name more than 4 of his songs.

I could sincerely, sincerely hate country music, but I can certainly understand how Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and Garth Brooks could appeal to people- absolutely. You certainly have a right to your opinion, but not understanding how anyone could like "Satisfaction," "Jumping Jack Flash," "Moonlight Mile," and about 20 other R.S. songs? Really? You're being truthful and honestly don't know? Well, that's called musical ignorance b/c it's going beyond a personal dislike. Again, see "Country Music Example."

    Radiohead
    Cranberries (ugh)
    Anastasia
    Nirvana
    Rammstein

I'm sure there are a lot more.

I'm disappointed. I was expecting some hipster to have answered, "all of them" before adjusting their scarf and taking a sip of PBR.

I'll add The Pixies. I can't stand the lead singer's voice.

"Gimme shelter", "can't you hear me knocking", "sympathy for the devil", "street fighting man", "tumbling dice", "b****", "moonlight mile", "get off my cloud", "monkey man", "star star", "she's a rainbow", "let it loose", etc ETC ETC. Might not be your cup of tea, but to say they suck? GIVE ME A FREAKIN BREAK!!!

That's like saying Monica Bellucci isn't beautiful.
