The one thing that all championships have in common is that they weren't coached by Kevin McHale.

Lawson would break down defenses with his dribble penetration. He is so good at that. Even more so than Dragic

So your expectations are for Morey to construct a full and complete roster within two offseason of acquiring Harden.

You might need to re-evaluate what is realistic and what is not.

Okay, how long should Morey be given then. When Dwight's and Harden's contracts are up? I'm fine with letting Howard walk and investing elsewhere but if Morey can't put in the right mixture around Harden its no guarantee Harden will stick around until Morey gets it right. Harden's having to do too much right now. That's the main reason stars jump ship these days because the team around them aren't helping to max out their potential in winning. As is, Harden will be worn down by the playoffs like he always has been in playoffs since being here.

If the Spurs are healthy their the team to beat IMO. Beating a team in the regular season is fools gold come playoff time even if you match up. If it was McHale vs Popovich who you going to favor?

LOL. Morey has put the franchise in the best position to win and put out a realistic championship contender. Not about adding assets anymore its all about fit now and I think he's right on the cusp of doing just that.

I want to share people's optimism but this team is not on the cusp of being a championship contender in my opinion. They will win games in regular season but playoffs are another matter. There's a long way to go in making this roster fit and some components currently don't fit together. A good pg I feel will go a long way in doing this. But there are still too many question marks with this team to say they are a realistic championship contender.

Talent-wise I think they can win it. The consistency in effort and execution is what will hold them back.

Harden normally is an MVP. For some reason though, last night they played him rough and had three guys reaching in to poke at the ball when he was driving. The calls didn't come, and then the second half we did not see James on the court. Instead, we got Pouty McBitchface basically throwing in the towel.

It happened last year with Portland, and this year if we are relying on him that much more, then he absolutely has to put his ego in check and make sure that Sir b****face never shows his face on the court again. Because that is vomit-inducing basketball to watch.

You act as if the normal outcome is to win the championship, and 29 other teams aren't desperate to accomplish the same outcome. What you are asking for is not easy, it's not likely, it's not even remote. Morey is doing just about as good a job as anyone could or would with the cards he has been dealt. The answer is Morey should have as much time as he wants because he is damn good at what he does. Harden ain't going anywhere, he loves it here. Morey has turned us into a destination city. Other stars are leaving their teams to come here. We may win a ring with Morey, we may not, but no other GM is going to do a better job, so it's pointless and stupid to try and "hold Morey accountable".

That's the problem with rocket fans, they always want blood, they always want someone to pay the price for failure. It's such an ignorant and counter productive manner to operate. You evaluate your team and if there are ways to improve, you implement. If not, you don't. You're not going to find a better GM than Morey so it makes no sense to even head down that road.

Would be nice if Dragic were more selfish and got into feuds with Thomas and Bledsoe over playing time. The Suns waive him while still paying him and the Rox pick him up for $2million lol..

    Of course you couldn't.

That would have required thought and reason and having a decent position to stand on.

Much easier to live in idiot ville where sense isn't important. The only thing that is important is that People are held accountable! As if that in any way translates to improvement.

Continue to b**** and moan though, I guess it makes you people happy.

Harden will go to new orleans if we aren't genuinely contending by the time his contract is up

Looks like we found one of moreys lab underlings ... does all the stat research ... tries to preach reason on message boards but ends up coming off like a jabroni without a clue.

We're close but I think it's fairly obvious that we need another playmaker. I know this topic has been beaten to death, but its a valid point.

If Harden has an off game this team generally crumbles. The offense usually becomes stagnant. Mind you, these comments of mine are all observation-based; I'd be curious to see the raw data of team performance in games where Harden can't find his shot. I'd be shocked if there wasn't a correlation indicating the team as a whole struggles on nights where Harden can't get it going.

Dragic is the guy I want, however I'm open to Lawson, Reggie Jackson and even wild-cards like Wade also. Whether the player is a 1 or 2 doesn't really concern me, we just need another player that knows how to run an offense.

This post about sums up my feelings too. It's too easy for a team with several good defenders to key one guy and shut them down if there is no one else on the court who can consistently punish them. That means we will struggle against teams like GS, Memphis, and Portland one of which we will surely face.

    Skill wise - yes.

    Mentally - no.

They don't know their roles yet, have not come together as a team - and are far too reliant on one player.
