He's been pretty underwhelming this season aside from good shooting, which even that seems to come and go. I really think this team would be better going for Dragic and have Bev come off the bench and provide even more depth for us. Trade Canaan and Jones since we're not using them, maybe throw in a couple of picks. I just don't see Bev as a starting PG on a championship team, perhaps more a championship back-up PG like Sam Cassell for Clutch City.

What is a championship Point Guard?

If you mean, can he be the Point Guard on a championship team, then yes, I think he can. As Derek Fisher and Mario Chalmers are championship point guards.

If you mean, could this team use more talent at the position to help win a title, then yes, we could use more talent at the position.

You are kinda stating the obvious.

Chalmers would be an improvement over Beverley though, since Bev's D hasn't been that stellar recently.

If we had another player other than Harden that could create for himself, maybe. At least 30 people said that after the game last night.

Plenty of teams have had playoff success without a "championship" point guard.

So let's ignore the fact it was a 2 games to 1 heat lead and in game 4 Chalmers dropped 25 to propel the Heat to a 3-1 series lead.

Then the championship after that...game 6/7 must wins vs the Spurs Chalmers averaged 17ppg, 50% fg, 41.6% from three.

It's not like he sat back and enjoyed the ride.

My point was Chalmers is not an elite pg and Miami had success with him starting. Bev and Mario are equal IMO.

All of these guys have a higher bball IQ than Bev. I hate how everything is coming down on Bev because I really love the guy and would love him as a spark plug off the bench. But he is not what the team needs as their main pg.

When Harden shuts it down, he really doesn't want to try... Even D.Wade, who is bone on bone with both knees turns it on every chance he can get.

its been really disappointing to see Bev's play. His shooting this year has improved but his defense has regressed plus he just cant create. I just dont think thats going to be good enough for a championship run.

Beverly has regressed. Unfortunately it hasn't been a good look.

Bev was a shiny novelty, and I still love him for what he brings in the same way I used to be a big Chuck Hayes and Carl Landry fan. But as time goes on, the novelty is wearing off. He isn't a starting caliber NBA player. He is not consistent enough or impactful enough.
