I really don't think Morey is as smart as people think he is. He is a big part of the problem with his gimmicky philosophy. McHale is Morey puppet. Les likes McHale because he has a big name. Front office are the ones who should be getting the bulk of fans disgust/blame.

McFail is one of the worst coaches in the NBA.

Look at GSW and how much better they have gotten once they replaced their entire coaching staff. But according to Maury and others coaching doesn't matter that much.

In other news, larsv8 is the eternal homer of clutch fans.

We have the luxury of knowing exactly what's wrong with our team.

Lack of a 2nd playmaker to compensate for the 3 and die offense if Harden is having a bad game or on bench.

Lack of a coach who CONSISTENTLY gets out coached by contender coaches.

What does Morey do? Give that coach an extension and bring in brewer and smith. Who are good talents of course, BUT IT'S JUST MOREY OF THE SAME WHILE IGNORING THE ISIS HOLDING THIS TEAM BACK FROM TITLE CONTENTION.

IT IS EXACTLY WHAT WE TH OUGHT IT WAS AND IT'S RIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR EYES

There was a poll earlier this week asking if the Rockets at this time in jucture are legit playoff contenders? I Voted No because in order to advance in the playoffs the Rockets need to pass the ball more and run plays. Everyone seems to just stand still when McHale is yelling for sets to be made. #Players&CoachesAlike #GetBetter

I've been saying that since last offseason. Don't blame McHale. He's a symptom, not the disease. Les has no idea how to run a basketball organization. He thinks only in terms of big trades, big free agent signings, big names. He doesn't understand(or have the patience for) the long term process of building a contender.

There's a reason we've won only one playoff series in nearly 18 years. It's not just due to injuries or bad luck. It's because there's been constant turnover with the roster, horrible trades, draft picks, and free agent signings, a refusal to tank which saddled the team with a bunch of #14 picks and 40-45 win seasons, and very little accountability when it comes to the front office and coaching staff. That last one is probably the biggest issue and that's entirely Les. What the hell kind of owner rewards his coach with a 3-year extension BEFORE he's accomplished anything with this team despite already being here 3 1/2 years?!

Relax guys. It will all be OK as long as we don't shoot top of the key 2 pt jumpers. As long as we stick to the hot spots the title is within reach. Moreys labtop says so and that's that.

Well put. At this point, complaining about Mchale seems futile. He is a symptom of a greater problem, the front office!

First of all, I have been a member of this site longer than you have and just because I haven't wasted my time with 12,000+ posts doesn't make me a peon.

I have not been a fan of McHale for a couple years now. Has nothing to do with this specific game. I've been furious with McHale after Rocket WINS because ultimately I see that this is not the guy that can take us where we want to go in the playoffs.

This roster is just as talented, if not MORE talented than the Warriors roster. The Warriors made an upgrade at head coach, we did not, hence each teams current record. As I stated in my post above, McHale does not place a premium on ball movement or taking care of the ball. He is not a tactician and does not make the adjustments that elite coaches do. We are always hovering around the top of the NBA in turnovers per game, and we run way too much isolation, refusing to make the defense move their feet and make decisions on defense.

I agree that PJ or Pop probably would have lost tonight as well, but I would bet my LIFE they would have a better record with this current roster than McHale would. And not just those two coaches. I feel that 75% of NBA coaches would have a better record with this roster.

I'm sorry that you don't see the game well enough to notice these things. Just keep telling yourself that McHale is the guy. I hope it works for you.

How many times can you come out and say "We didn't have any fire", and chalk up another loss?

if ur mchale u can do w/e the **** you want cuz u just got an undeserved 3 year contract extension. u can just sit on the bench and tell your team to play harder. and when ur bored u take out your random number generator when u need to make subs.

It was quite obvious last playoffs that McHale isn't a great coach.

From what I've seen, offensive sets out of the time out seem to be his greatest plus among a sea of minuses.

You can say what you want about coaching (and I'm not even a McHale fan), but it's clear that the Warriors have more talented and multi-dimensional players than the Rockets.

They have multiple shot creators, defenders, rebounders at seemingly every position. Nobody has to carry that team singlehandedly. They are LOADED. We are not, and they exploited our weaknesses.

This is more of a talent problem than a coaching problem, IMO.

Who is Golden State's 2nd playmaker? Coaching matters.
