Harden needs prove himself in the playoff
I don't hope Harden repeat Melo's old ways: good individual data but team suck

Memphis was without Conley last night and still knocked off the Magic by 10. We had our entire team the other night besides Terry(and T-Jones obviously) and couldn't get any stops.

Yes, the Rockets are in the race for homecourt for now. But the upcoming schedule is brutal and if they keep playing the same kind of uninspired ball that we saw tonight, they won't be in it for much longer. Memphis is coming on strong with Zach back and adding Green(although Conley will be out a while). Portland is sliding, but are still 2 games up on us(assuming they lose tonight). Dallas is playing well. San Antonio ain't that far behind and just got back Kawhi. And the Clippers are always a threat to make a run based on their talent alone.

Harden decided to have a horrible game? Ok....

That's what happens when you carry the team on your back every night.

If we're expecting Harden to put up 35 points each night, average a triple double, and do it on 80% shooting that's a problem.

I don't mind losing to a team when they have a good coach, depth and chemistry that we are still trying to develop but the way we lost.

There is almost no attention to details on the defensive end and no adjustment during the game. The only adjustment, is the same tired, old adjustment of going small.

As I predicted pre-season, the team is 4-7 seed and making up the numbers. We used this year to find some good bench pieces e.g. Brewer for a run next year.

Good lord Rockets, at least show that you belong. And people got pissed off when Barkley said we weren't contenders

    At this point ...

anything can still happen with injuries and stuff. OKC also beat them last night, so it's the match-ups.

Tonight is the first time they've really kicked our asses. Past two games it was more even. Harden went missing.

That was my point, why screw up a good thing, the pieces FIT - we did not need to sign Smith and cut Black, the TEAM was better with Black - it just FIT better, everyone knew their roles.

It is not so much that Smith stinks (though that is debatable) it is that he disrupts things and takes touches/shots away from more efficient players.

    Ugh, never mind...

    -16 for Harden the same.

    Harden 4-15 / 0-4 and 4-7 from the ft line 12 points

Howard 9-15 and 5/7 from the ft line 23 points (and without the flopping the guy should has score a lot more.'

    Josh Smith 5-10 1/1 3-4 FT.

This game was all on the defense and horrific play by Harden today, it happen.

We definitely traded our offensive efficiency last year for our defensive improvements this year. Ariza is great but limited, he has a hard time being anything but a standstill spot up shooter this year. Beverley is Bev, basically a less reliable shooting better defending Derek Fisher. But somehow we need to make it work, no team is perfect, and our talent level says that we should be able to make a coherent gameplan to counter teams that take away our main options on offense. Maybe a trade at the deadline will clear this up...

need more positive thoughts around here, it is just one game in a long season and we have a big season half of the season to go.

we are 28-13 at half way, some people had us not even winning 50 games

    If? Will they?

We were supposed to get dominated by Memphis when we first lost Dwight and they came back strong. We were playing bad and faced a hot Dallas team...beat them easily.

Were playing bad lost to Orlando...dominate the Thunder for much of the game.

No, this team does not stay down for too long. You mention all those other teams, all those other teams have been just as inconsistent and up and down. Why?

The league is pretty tough this year man. There are about 4 bad teams, the rest are mediocre teams that can beat anyone on any given night.

He could have at least gone to the rim unlike Terry.

Excellent post and completely on point. We have done very little that has been impressive the last 15 games and it comes down to the fact that our offense is so god damned predictable and we do not have what GSW has, mid range jump shooters that can create their own shot and a PG who can facilitate getting other players shots.

Not sure what happened w/ our D tonight, but they sucked ass as they allowed 50% shooting in the first half and laughably 65% in the 2nd. That is a JOKE !
