This. Jones was a really good offensive player for us. If he is included as a filler that bring us an equally really good pg, I am all for it. Otherwise, bring an adequate pg as insurance for Bev and keep the man. There was a good poster, Leeb, who thought Jones had the highest ceiling to be a star among Patterson, Landry, and I believe D-Mo. He hardly posts anymore.
Something positive to think about is Terrence Jones not being able to do anything but shoot jumpers all this time is good news.
Jones ceiling is very low, that's the reason so many of us view him as expendable. The same went for Patterson and Landry as well. 6-8 PF with solid athleticism are a dime a dozen.
He doesn't have a "very low" ceiling. He averaged 12 and 7 as a twenty two year old. And this season he was averaging 14 and 7.5 before he got hurt. TJones is already putting up good numbers and I think he will continue to get better. I'm hoping the Rockets keep both DMo and TJones and let these guys continue to develop.
Ruh Roh. Fighting words. "He's a difference maker." "We're fixing to go to .900 just as soon as he gets back!"
Only if he is valued outside Roxland, even if by just one evaluator; DM the GM will not 'just discard'.
Doubtful, he's an athletic 6'9 PF, which isn't exactly rare and he's missed like 3 months this season. I'd be surprised if you could trade him for a wet sock right now. I mean, he is the obvious player to trade in that he's by far the weakest defender among the 4's we have on the roster, but you don't just dump him to dump him. If he gets traded, it'll have to be either as a throwaway part of a larger deal or it'll have to be next year when he's had a chance to build some kind of value.
Whatever you do, don't quit your day job to become an NBA Scout. You would spend all of your time in the unemployment line.
No timeline for Jones at this point means he stays through the deadline just because he may not be back till late Feb anyways.
Your BB IQ is very low... I bet you thought DMO was a scrub and would've traded him for nothing lol. Shows how little you know...

Great to hear him getting back soon. Wonderful news. Hopefully he can use the rest of the season to work his way back to the way he was playing before he was injured.
