depth is awesome. as long as the resulting string of moves (I say resulting string because if this happened it wouldnt be the only move) doesnt gut our depth than i'm cool with whatever morey has brewing
Someone offered a three team trade between Houston, Brooklyn and Phoenix. Dragic to Houson, Lopez to PHX and picks and expirings to BKN. Would be amazing to see something like that happen. All teams would benefit, imo
Good job by Morey to drive that price up. OKC only giving up Lamb in the deal would have been a complete joke. To get back a player of Lopez's caliber, and not even have to give up a rotation player would have been a massive coup for them. Literally no risk and all reward.
Hoping this is the case, but could certainly also be what Clutch said. This is Morey we are talking about, not surprised if there's a quality player that's available for a reasonable price he is in no doubt inquiring.
I cant see how Lopez would help the team. Robin yes he is much more energetic, rebounding defense and all without the same sort of foot injury history. The salary he makes and that he is on the books -- makes no sense unless the rockets are a third team trying to make something work for like deron williams too or something. honestly i prefer him on the thunder if it means they let go of perkins. Lopez is not an interior defensive presence - Perk gives Howard all sorts of trouble and if we faced them in the playoffs that would be the biggest issue
This shouldn't be surprising. It seems like the Rockets, to their credit, are continually talking to other teams about the value of other players. Is Lopez a need for our team? Sort of. A backup Center would be nice, but his contract is pretty terrible when we are already paying Dwight. But if we were able to get him without trading very many assets? That is a lot more intriguing. So my guess is that this is just Morey doing his due diligence on a player that seems to be available

I actually agree with this. Lopez would give them a legitimate inside scoring threat.... if he can stay healthy. But it seems like he hasn't been able to stay healthy in a long time. But one of the Thunder's strengths is their interior defense. Say what you want about Perkins, but he is still a good interior one on one defender. I think if they lost Perkins and added Lopez, it would open up the paint against their defense
No please. I'm happy with our big man rotation now, and Lopez is soft and injury-prone. Get us a point guard, Morey!
Let's get him so Chuck can start hating him once he's on the Rockets cause as of now he loves him some Brook Lopez
