Say "NO!!!!" to Jack off the Nets!

I have my doubts about Lopez, especially his health... but this is one more step in the Western Conference arms race. How many teams have made moves to at least try to make a significant upgrade now? Rockets (Smith, Brewer), Dallas (Rondo), Memphis (Green), and OKC already (Waiters) and we are only in January. I just don't recall teams being this active in recent years.

True. I always seem to forget how much Lopez is payed.

Still a real uptick in talent, though. The West arms race continues.

Highway robbery for OKC. I don't care how much money Lopez makes.

What would you trade for Lopez if you ran the Rockets?

What would you pay trade Lopez if you ran any other team?

IMO, I feel like this year's chances of winning a title is as wide open as it's ever been. I can't recall it ever being like this. I guess with Lebron having a down year with the Cavs and really on the Hawks being a real threat in the East.

OKC willing to pay luxury tax by paying 17M per year for a big with a history of foot problems?

    They dont like Perkins anymore?

I bet they now wish they hadnt been cheap earlier and had kept Harden.

    Oh well.....

    Thanks anyways!

Brooklyn is right to hold out for more. Lopez for Stephenson and cap relief is a really bad return for Brook. Perkins is no longer a negative value since he's expiring, but since he can't be re-flipped for anything else he's nothing more than an expiring filler.

I know OKC would be putting themselves in financial hell with this acquisition, but I still find it rather unfair that OKC might nab Lopez for almost literally nothing.

Purely a case of rich getting richer in the West while the East continues to rot.

Harden would be averaging 30/8/8 in the East easily.

I don't get why OKC is trying to put themselves in financial hell when they wouldn't do that for a restricted FA Harden a couple years back. But it's none of my business, you carry on OKC. The FO is doing a terrific job right now.

Of course it is. Brooklyn gives up its best asset, and doesn't get cap relief in return?? Makes zero sense.

The only trade that makes sense to me is a 3-way trade with the 76ers involved. They, and only they, have the ability to absorb significant salary without sending anything in return. Of course they aren't going to offer this service without significant compensation (probably 2 1st).
