They're absolutely awful anyway and Lance makes something like half as much money as Lopez. Why not? If you're going to be awful, you might as well get out of luxury tax hell if possible.

Except that deal does not work under any circumstance under the NBA trade rules dictated by this thing called the "Collective Bargaining Agreement".

Kind of important, and it just shows how little the TNT guys actually know about the NBA as a whole. Do a quick check for 2 seconds on something before you vomit the proposal all over TV as if its already a done deal.

There is NO WAY Lopez is going to OKC. The Thunder have almost nothing to trade.

Which is nice, but the deal still wouldn't work financially.

Brooklyn is trying to find a 4th team to take Kendrick Perkins from Thunder so it can work.

We need to get our hands on Jarett Jack! If he is available then time to get our hands on a vet that can show Beverly and our new young guards the ropes.

    Could you elaborate?

I kind of like the deal for us though. Howard doesn't like playing Perkins and I think he'd much rather face Brook. Does Brook have a midrange?

So I guess OKC just gets a vast upgrade at Center for free. That's cool.

Not really. They have to pay Lopez next season which will push them into the luxury tax. If he gets injured again, they will swallow a $17 million anchor.

It's good for the Rockets they weren't so desperate to win 3 seasons ago. What a major change in behavior.
