Curry > Beverley Harden < Thompson Ariza < Barnes DMo = Green Howard > Bogut Bench: Smith < Lee Terry < Livingston Brewer = Iggy
Looks like we got our answer last night. Big match up between the two and one turned in another great performance en route to a blowout win and the other didn't look fit to hold the other guy's jock strap. Would have been nice, wouldn't it?
Look at the NBA all-time steals leaders, plenty of mediocre guys on it. Hell Barkley is top 25 and he was terrible at defense.
agree completely. curry is shadowed by a second man the second he crosses half court, because he is in range already.
Curry could easily score 28 a night. His assist per game would drop a point. He also played 3 fewer minutes than Harden and 1 less turnover. And unlike Harden there's no defender that could check him. Your MVP should not have a single stop gap. But Harden has a whole starting lineup that can make his life miserable at any given night. Tony Allen, Wesley Mathews, Jimmy Butler, Paul George, Clippers backcourt, and Klay Thompson all has precedents in shutting down Harden. Curry>Harden
Put a competent pure shooter next to Harden that can create for themselves and the game becomes so much easier for Harden. That's the difference here. If all you had to do was stop Curry when you're playing GSW, then the game is different but every starter on that team can light you up. Can you say that about the Rockets? Stop Harden, you stop the Rockets.
After last night's game, Curry will be the MVP. Unless Harden has a crazy revenge game and we pull out a win on the 21st, we won't have a Rocket hoisting the MVP trophy this year.
Records will determine who the MVP is this year. This is not a season where there is a Lebron or Durant type of performance. Curry will win this if the Warriors keep up this pace. Can't wait to see WB v. Curry in the playoffs though. WB would kill him.
Iverson was a horrible defender and was close to a league leader in steals throughout his career. Iggy has been terrible this year. The mere threat of Curry distorts defenses to an obscene level.
It will be the team with the best record, so Curry would get it...even more so that they are the top seed. So even if Harden had outplayed Curry, it wouldn't have mattered
Pretty much. It's not the best player award, it is MVP. So it is usually decided from the teams with the top 4 records, Unless the Warriors fall and Rockets rise. Curry will get it.
Love the job McHale has done this year, but we haven't hit his annual losing streak at the end of the season. Unfortunately, this will likely seal the deal for Curry (or Durant/James). Right now, the push should just be to get Harden too start in the All-Star game....that would be a nice reward for his efforts this season.
You don't know basketball at all if you think Durant/James are even in the conversation right now for MVP.
Good grief I'm glad you corrected that so quickly. I was about to think you were the dumbest poster on the board.
